+1 for an alarmed disc lock.. Never been a fan of the often troublesome / battery draining bike alarms..

"Beowulf" do make them for the S2 and may be worth a shout...

The temptation to put a good used motor in the bike rather than shell out for the repair would be all too much..

I have owned 3 FZS's which haven't been so twitchy.

Used bikes can look identical in every respect, yet rarely do they all ride the same.. ime

Very nice, I sometimes wish I'd gone for a silver frame/engine one, my black always seems to look grubby!
Hey I'm always up for a deal if you're struck on the silver frame thing  :lol

Inner cowls removed in pic as waiting on a new battery (what a palaver it is the battery bein up front and tank not clearin the fairing  :rolleyes ).. The joys of underseat exhausts I guess :)

Lift the seat, undo the bolt at the rear of the tank and take it out.

Then undo the two bolts at the front of the tank and you can slide it back to lift it without removing the inner fairings :thumbup

Thanks for the heads up  :thumbup .... Jus seems an afterthought tho as the rear bolt was obviously designed to be a hinge..  :rolleyes

Before laying out for a new shock I'd be checking the rear preload setting...

I guess going by reg prefix will never be entirely accurate due to dealers sometimes selling off older non pre-registered stock..

Ah well.. The Boxeye has gone to its new owner.. Been a blast on here while owning the bike and a big thanks to all for the help and of course the banter.. I may only be popping next door tho, as all being well the replacement is another black Yamaha but hey its fuel injected (shame on me)  :lol

May be wrong but always saw the S2 as the one with bolt on rear footrest brackets.. Then again seems folk are listing bikes as S2's with the frame welded footrest brackets???..  :rolleyes

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Help with indicators
« on: 20 May 2014, 09:48:58 pm »
I can only imagine they are a lower wattage bulb than standard and drawing less current, subsequently causing the quicker flashing.. Will be an issue come MOT time if flashing more than the acceptable level.. Only seen it on the led type indicators which draw even less current.. Upgrade the bulbs (if poss) or fit resistors..

In the uk. Seems very cheap

Seen that fairing on a few bikes and tbh never looked right on any.. Hints at a shrunken sport bike top fairing thats out of proportion with everything.. Apologies in advance to anyone that has gone that route  :)
