Blue dot rear brake
« on: 03 March 2016, 08:16:24 pm »
Hi,

Doing a bit of maintenance work on the rear caliper. The rear caliper has clearly not seen a good clean in a while and has a fair amount of corrosion. Even the retaining pins were a huge task to remove, one piston was sticking which I've managed to free up with lots of cleaning and greasing. A question I do have is how do I remove the corrosion on the inner part of the pistons, Its most likely only surface rust but I'd rather remove it to stop it worsening.

Thanks!

Remove and clean the pistons, check the caliper bores and replace the pistons.  Probably worth fitting new seals while you're at it.
