Multi-bike insurance: Feedback -

What companies are you with. I have 2 bikes to insure but locked in a garage at another address. I've tried Bennetts and I can't get a quote. Who are you with?

I've got four bikes on an Aviva policy. They call it Premier Bike Club on the renewal document. I was with Norwich Union for years and then it was taken over by Aviva. Eighteen years ago I wrote a bike off and they payed out the full price I payed for the bike without quibbling, so I've stuck with them ever since.  Cost me £213 plus £37 for full breakdown recovery to home or destination. Only used the recovery once after a tyre failure in France and they got me and the bike to a garage to have a new tyre fitted. Probably cheaper if you shop around but I'm happy.

Based on your experiences do you find multibike insurance  worth having?  I can't help thinking after the first year of taking out a multibike policy there is no way of getting an accurate price comparison against individual bike policies.  I'm presuming the NC discount  can't be used independently for both bikes.

Depends on the policy you have - some accrue NCD on each bike separately. Others give you the same NCD for both.
After the first year its simple enough though to get two quotes for individual bikes.
