Knackered wheel bearing/s?

Speedo drive as mentioned.

What about your lid? Vent open/loose and causing high pitched noise?

Hi All,

I set up the original group buy which was successful for these. Thread is called "Rad hoses" if I remember right.

They are lasting well and if you can get them then I would say go for it.

HOWEVER!!! Be very careful that you are definitely getting a set for the fzs600 and not the later FZ6.

All the best,

Chris

FZS600 / Re: HOW TO: Forks Seals, Bushes and Oil
« on: 16 February 2018, 05:44:31 am »

Great guide  :)

Just done my fork seals and the guide really helped.

One of my damper rod bolts had a rounded off head so I had to hammer in a triple square bit to grip it and get it out. I obviously then needed to get a new bolt. I thought I'd post up the part numbers in case anyone else has the same problem.

Damper rod bolt part number: 3D8 23181 00
Copper crush washer for damper rod bolt: 509 23158 L0

Hope that's useful to anyone else with the trouble I had with mine.

So much better than the standard bars. I filed down the tabs a bit and they've been fine =)

Can't remember how much they were last time but it's listed in the original "rad hoses" thread.

They weren't cheap but I'd rather have silicone ones than the standard rubber ones anyway and they look so much better.

At least your workmates will know when to put the kettle on when you're leaving home to go to work  :lol

Hahaha!!! Trust me, there are bikes with much louder exhausts than mine and it's not too offensive, definitely louder though, especially as the revs get higher under load.

Decided it was time to take out the baffle. Man it's got some scream now!

I found that none of the R&G ones etc had any weight in them.

I bought a pair of bar end weights from a Suzuki hayabusa, some long bolts and some wall fixing metal rawlplugs. Same as this video:

Worked perfectly and never moved since the day I fitted them  8)

That's why you sand them back first  ;)

Sand them back, primer then paint them. I did mine black and really pleased with them.

They should have all the tooling as they have already made 11 sets. Hope it all works out for you as they do look awesome on the bikes.

If you have any question about the first group buy, which I organised, then all the info should be in the old thread but if you can't find something then just PM me.  :)

Chris

I'm surprised the didn't add the FZS600 to the list of kits on their website since they had the tooling but it looks like they are concentrating on commercial and industrial business instead of automotive retail.  David that you dealt with seems very helpful but if anything comes up that you might be able to help with I'll get in touch

Yeah, I wondered the same.

He was really helpful and always replied really quickly to emails.

No worries, hope it goes ok for you all.

Put some miles on it!

MOT next week. Not worried about it as it's running spot on.

I have a Weise psycho jacket and it's great, leather/textile mix and it's been great.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Best lube for brake pistons?
« on: 26 March 2017, 02:24:25 pm »
Red rubber grease is best if you have some. Are you rebuilding the caliper or just pushing the pistons out a bit cleaning them and then greasing them?

You can use brake fluid but it's not the best and will wash off too easily.

Pretty sure the later 02/03ish had stainless headers but the welds aren't so they still get holes in the collectors and joins...

It may have been lowered by a previous owner but think twisted/corroded centre stand is the more likely reason that it's difficult to get up on to the stand.
