Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Here we go again...
« on: 13 May 2019, 01:24:37 pm »
Hello all.
More EXUP problems that you are surly all tired of reading but thought id give it a go.
Bike was sat for about 4 months, as predicted code 7 appeared, went for a blast to try and clear but to no avail. I have check the cables are at the correct tension, and once that failed, i have resorted to removing it to see the problem.
The issue i have discovered is the valve is not moving, it has siezed to the end plate, no amount of force will get it to budge... Any ideas before i break it?
Or does anyone know where i could purchase a replacement if needs be? guessing i will also need cables as they have probably been ruined from trying to turn the valve when it was stuck...
The other option is to get rid of the valve completely with these, although id rather not spend the cash:
Cheers :)

FZS600 Fazer / So I got her on the Dyno...
« on: 24 February 2017, 09:09:42 pm »
So I "won" a free dyno power run... the bike is 17 years old... and i was hoping for a solid 85 bhp.... how wrong I was.. shes running 80.65 bhp... Not a bad number but would have liked to have seen better..
Now here's the problem, the air/fuel mixture seems to go mad at 5000 revs. The guy running the dyno has suggested a new air filter as a quick cheap fix. Poor guy had long queue so I did not ask more questions.
Can anybody think of anything that could help solve the problem?
Bike is a 2000 fzs 600, only change is aftermarket exhaust. :)

General / And the planning begins...
« on: 14 August 2016, 05:08:15 pm »
So I have 10 days holiday booked from the 25th august until the 5th September. The plan is to visit Europe, ignoring France as best possible seeing as i lived there and explored most of it. Planed stops so far are nurburgring, Stelvio pass, Monaco, and anywhere else that takes my fancy. I'll be camping the whole time and plan on avoiding motorways as best i can, unless I need to make up some time.
It will ideally be a leisurely pace the whole time, or am i being unrealistic in my plans?

I'm sure some of you foccers have done a journey like this before, any tips for a youngster like myself? :D
10 days till I go, Tyres are in very good condition, bike had a service and MOT in march so should be all good there. Is there anything I'm not thinking off here?

General / tyre question.
« on: 14 August 2015, 08:44:39 pm »
So as above i have a question. This is not a question about what tyre too choose, more about durability.
I have to ride to Manchester soon, (or rather, i am riding because public transport sucks, and the car is sick) its about 270 miles each way. My plan is to ride motorway on the way down, fun roads on the way home. I have ,metzeler sportec on my fzs 600.
Question is, will 300 miles of motorway "square off" the tyres? They are not cheap so i dont want to have to replace them too soon.Just put new rear on 2000 miles ago.....

General / slip on exhaust change. how to
« on: 27 April 2015, 08:35:00 pm »
So I bought a new exhaust. Now I'm assuming it's ad simple as Un bolt remove. Place and bolt? I'm hoping this is the case as I only have a socket set and Allen keys.  :rolleyes

General / the human race still confuses me.....
« on: 17 April 2015, 04:50:10 pm »
Sooo as some of you might remember i was knocked of my bike by a lovely lady back in February. Well they accepted liability, sent me a cheque for the bike and i assumed it was all over. happy to never talk about it again. Apparently not....  :rolleyes
This morning I got an email from my insurance company saying that the lady who hit me was making a personal injury claim...  :eek
Now, I get the feeling she is trying to claim something back? She hit a motorcycle at 10 mph with a car. How is she injured?
I meet thousands of different people a week, (Granted they are all kids) but this has crossed the line of stupid....
Right I'm off to get pissed now. Rant over.  :'(

General / and i'm back
« on: 18 March 2015, 04:31:40 pm »
sooo the cheque has been cashed and the new ride is here.

She is a 2000 fzs with 32000 miles. Looking at the MOT previous miles, looks like a bike that has been used rarely in the pas 5 years. 2000 miles in 5 years. Either its made up or has just been sat in a shed?
Bonus... stainless down pipes and new exhaust system. :D
So now, anyone in Scotland this summer?  :lol

Hi all.
So I have a skoda roomster, it has 4 wheels, 3 tyres on said wheels were changed last month, 4th was changed 2000 miles ago so dident want to change that one.
After changing the tyres the car started to pull to the left. I spoke to a garage who said it was the difference in tread. So I put the older tyre on the back.
Did this solve the problem? No....
Anyone got any advice? I have checked tyre pressure, torqued nuts to 100 nm. No idea what else to do. :(
I have it booked into the garage tomorrow afternoon, but do not really have the money...

General / Winter equipement.
« on: 13 December 2014, 09:39:25 pm »
Been here a week and already creating hundreds of topics  :o
So a question for all you winter commuters. What are decent winter gloves? I need some for myself and as a present for the little sis.
There seems to be alot of different ones, plus under gloves things....I get confused.
Has anyone got a favourite pair that keep the hands cosy?
Thank you :D
