Delkevic stubby is nice and fruity so will just swap back to titanium road legal for MOT since it only takes about 5 mins.

Try E-bay item number 251337776314 and get white or whatever colour you fancy, or go for tuning fork ones if you prefer.

Sorry mickvp, misunderstood your lingo.... I'm from Kilmarnock but bought my fazer in Barrhead. 12,000ml on it and it looks as good in the flesh as does in the picture.
Thanks  8)

I always use a black visor with clear Fog city insert in all my helmets even when starting at 05;00, never had a problem except occasionally in heavy rain then just crack visor open a bawhair and that sorts it out. My eyes are extremely light sensitive and i seem to be able to see better when its dull.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Pazzo Levers anyone using them ?

I liked them on the SV but i like the longer ones, I always think the shorties look like BMX levers and not motorcycle ones.

Silkolene semi synthetic in summer and Wurth dry chain lube in the winter, got 28,000 miles out my last one and only changed it as process of elimination when bike was making a weird noise over 30 mph. Silkolene seems to last well when weather is hot and dry, shitey road salt doesn't stick to your chain in winter in my experience.

When I wrote off my 02 Silver Ice Fazer I decided to try an SV, had it 3 years but when I got the chance to get an 03 Fazer i jumped at it cos it's the only bike I've had that does the lot and does it well. Here's a couple of pics of my old bike

Must be worth £850 of anybody's money.
Got £2,500 for it.

Something similar happened to me with last Fazer and I got a couple of nuts and got them professionally ground on the outside so they would just fit through the collar and catch the thread with enough hex left to catch it with a socket or spanner and it worked a treat, I would try that If you can find someone to do the grinding unless you can do it yourself, good luck mate.

I swapped my filler cap for a screw in oil temperature gauge I got on E-Bay, had one on my XJR too.

A similar thing happened to me but the stud didn't shear at the engine just the nut so my mate ground the outside of the nut to about halfway down so that it fitted through the collar and caught the thread. It happened with two of the nuts and worked perfectly and saved me a right headache, its worth trying if there is enough of the stud left.

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Fuel gauge problem.
« on: 08 July 2013, 10:27:33 pm »
Mine started playing up yesterday, i've done 60 miles since top up and when sitting ticking over it's sitting at 3 quarters full which i expect but when I move off its moving up to full and back to 3 quarters again. Also when I turn ignition off the gaugue drops very slowly maybe 20 seconds, any ideas?
I'd guess that the up-and-down bit is just a result of how the float reacts/moves depending on the actual fuel level in the tank. So the changes under acceleration are just due to the fuel moving in the tank. Probably does similar under braking? It does seem a little odd that it'll do this, yet when you switch off it drops slowly. Just a design thing I think.
When the revs drop or on tickover the needle drops to where i would expect it to be due to distance travelled but as soon as i open the throttle it just goes to the top. :(

How long have you had it? Got mine 4 weeks ago tomorrow with brand new Meta 357tv2 fitted by the shop, i had a Datatool System3 on my last bike, (SV650  05) and had no problems at all during the 3 years i had it.

Anyone got any super duper tips for cleaning hem down pipes. Ive been at them with wonder wheels and emery, wire brush, scotchpad etc. They are loads better but I'm lazy and want something easier.
Optiglanz mate, you'll get it in Hein Gericke for about £12 and works a treat just dont get it on your skin or eyes. It will burn the crap off your pipes no problem and wash away with water, theres a you tube video on the thread about rusty downpipes if you want a look.  :)

Make sure you grease it when replacing, similar thing happened with my last Fazer, a strange rubbing sound coming from the front end going anything over 35. I had it in every bike shop in glasgow and tried new wheel bearings, new chain and sprocket, i was advised to put original screen back on even though i never had it to begin with. Turned out to be a totally dry grease seal on the front wheel  :o
