Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: Exup Valve
« on: 01 April 2013, 11:10:02 am »
I finally binned the valve on my 2004 plate bike ( after many attemps to fix it), kept the original down pipes, got the carbs re-jetted and put onto a rolling road, it was dyno'd at 132.9 hp. It's lost a wee bit mid-range, but not that you'd notice..
That was over a year ago now and no problems at all.. 8)

I've just had my bike MOT'd and was told one of my back lights was out , the left one, although the brake light was working he passed it. So.. stupid question time.. Should both back lights on all the time or do I have a knackered bulb?

I removed the exup valve due to it siezing up regardless of how it was cleaned and maintained. The bike has lost a little bit in the mid range and gained the tiniest bit of a flat spot low down in the revs, but to be honest you'd struggle to notice any of it.. 8)

Only just dawned on me to join one of these on-line  clubs..
Had my Fazer 1000 for 6 years now, and after my V-Max it was a like a race bike..
It's a 2004 bike in dark grey, standard looking, although I've junked the exup valve, fitted a naughty can and had the bike re-jetted and tuned up on a rolling road. Result was a healthy 129.6 bhp at the back wheel and a grin on ma face that looked quite unsettling..
It's now looking it's age a wee bit so next month it's goin for powder coating, braided lines, new sprockets etc. and a new rear shock.
And maybe even a wash.. 8)
