Title: my 600
Post by: wraith600 on 09 October 2011, 03:50:28 pm
an update had an issue with chain clearance in the clutch cable to push rod thing so out with the hacksaw a lot cheaper than spending £200 on a 520 chain+ sprockets

That's a really nice project you've got going there  :woot

How did you get round the problem of the ECU bringing in the rev limiter really early as there's no speed being shown by the front wheel ?

Baz  :)

I'm a bit lost here if the sprocket was fouling the clutch release there is something very wrong why not repair it?  The mod you have done is illegal and will fail an MOT and if your stopped by plod a possible ticket with a strong likelihood you will not be allowed to continue to ride the bike.

not illegal  :lol  just passed the mot with the mod and as i said to fix any other way £200+ for a new 520 chain + 2 custom made sprockets  any way Harley etc have the primary drive un covered all the time  :rolleyes

Are you saying an MOT station passed it exactly as it appears in the picture?  I'm still at a loss as to why you needed to change the chain and sprockets because of them somehow fouling the clutch release and by cutting away the sprocket cover has cured it?

The ecu doesn't reduce the Rev limit with the speedo removed, never has, never will.
What it does do is show a fault code once the bike is revved past 10k and continues to show that code until it's reset by turning the ignition on and off.
Whilst it's showing the fault code it can still be revved to the red line!
