Help! Camshaft
« on: 31 March 2014, 05:10:28 pm »
Got holders off, go to pull camshaft up but not coming. Lifted slightly on right, but not coming on the side nearest the alternator.

Have I missed something? Don't want to pull too hard

Ok, cam shafts loose now but not enough slack in chain to remove them?

Top and front guides off , tensioner out ?.......if yes now that the chain is loose make sure its not caught up in the bottom end , also try rotating the shaft as you try to remove   ;)y
One, is never going to be enough.....

Yay! Got it off with a little patience. Front cam chain guide needs to come out according to manual, but won't physically fit to come out with engine in situ - had to pull head up a bit then pull cam guide out.

Anyway, head off so drilling time tomorrow :)
