Bucket list
« on: 07 June 2014, 11:35:41 pm »
Number 1 on my bucket list is to go to the TT. To spectate. Every year I watch it and am in awe of these guys.
Number 2 is the NW200

You forgot the Ulster Grand Prix, the fastest road race in the world :) As good as if not better than the NW200

The tt is a expensive place to visit, it's cheaper to go to Ireland to see the irish races, which are just as good if not better, as they are proper races and not time trails, and are better value for ur money, I know this as I lived there for a few years (IoM)

Keep it simple......stupid..!!!

My mate did the NW a few weeks back. He rode to Stranraer for the ferry and then came back via Ireland and Wales.  His expenses for the week were over £500. I'm wondering how to make it cheaper?

There is road racing most weekends in Ireland, so you don't have to go to one of the mega events to see some racing.
Mass starts (well broken down into groups), much shorter circuits, relaxed atmosphere = good events.  Mix in a nice ride across Ireland, Irish hospitality, pints of stout......

I've only been to see three races.  It's all a bit bonkers, can't quite get my head round it.  Maybe getting hit by a bike and flung into a framers hedge put me off a bit :lol

Not been to the TT, and I don't think I'll ever go.

Isn't there an overnight ferry from Liverpool to Belfast anymore? There used to be! Saves on the motorway slog, costs a wee bit more than fuel & Cairnryan Ferry (Stranraer isn't on anymore) and you get a decent breakfast too!
Also, having a missus as a teacher means that she'll never have the time off for the TT...
