Why not just get an R6 instead? 130+hp, 160KGs.

I recently changed the FFabbri double bubble for a Zero Gravity touring screen. The zeroG is the same height but wider at the base. I am 5'10" and find the noise and buffeting is a little better but I would be hard pressed to say if the improvement is because it is a 'better' screen or simply becuase I spent money on it.

I fitted braided hoses and change the pistons seals a while ago, more for piece of mind then because they were needed, as I always found the Fazers brakes to be very good with nice feel and control. Two things came out of that 1) very good brakes became great brakes! Loads of feel, one finger control - and 2) they were a foccer to bleed properly. The angle of the outlet from the master to the hoses allowed a tiny bit of air to trap which gave a soft feel no matter what I did. In the end, I took the master off the bar and hung it from a make shift support to get all the angles right.

The seam is bursting on the front of my '04 gen 1 and while black gaffer tape works, it really lets the look of the bike down.  I found this crowd on ebay. Has anybody heard of them, or used them? http://www.topsellerie.com/@EN-FR/YAMAHA-FAZER-1000-FZS-seats-petrol-tank-covers-tank-bags-motorbike_8_210.html

Sounds like he rode it like he stole it. May be worth mentioning the incident to the boys in blue.

I am not sure but I think it was about €60 but that may have been as part of a group deal and it took about 1.5 ~ 2 hours.

I had my '04 gen1 treated last weekend by Roy and Baz who came over to Ireland and I have to say I am seriously impressed. Of course the bike was spotless when they finished but I expected that so no great surprise there, but the weather has been less then the best here in Ireland recently and when I got home last night my bike was manky again (I commute 35 miles a day on rural roads).  Two minutes with the garden hose and it was spotless. We will see if that lasts all winter, but 1st impressions are that was money very well spent.
