There will never be a consensus on this so in reality any criticism should be aimed at the design, not the colours. That way, we can each customise our own tax disc as we see fit but it will still be recognisable. It wouldn't be overly hard to create a simple web page that allows users to upload their own background image to use and to alternate the colour of the centre yamaha logo. The latter may be slightly more difficult and initially I'd suggest limiting to a few choice colours.

perhaps we should have the text midway between the outside border and the Yam logo (which looks great in blue) -reason is, some cheapo tax disc holders (ie mine) cover up a bit too much of the outside edge of the disc with the rubber seal thing.

Yes I think you are right, my whole thinking about changing the logo colour to match the flag was to make the flag stand out more as I just dont think that enough is seen to show its a flag. By making the text circle smaller it will show more flag. And perhaps you could try one with that part more transparent to let more flag through.

And if the outside white can be kept white like the top of the welsh one

I would be happy to use anything but am just trying to help perfect a design that we can all perhaps vote on

so cornish dont exist ???

wheres the st pirran flag

Ah, are you in Perranporth? we were thinking of moving over there, I'm very often one of those idiots you see standing in the surf trying to catch a bass of an evening. Currently we are about 20 miles away although I'm working and staying in London at the moment.

Tax discs:- Well done Mickvp for some great designs. I like the English one a lot although perhaps we should have the text midway between the outside border and the Yam logo (which looks great in blue) -reason is, some cheapo tax disc holders (ie mine) cover up a bit too much of the outside edge of the disc with the rubber seal thing.
not far from you
but closer to the lizard lol

The revised designs are fantastic (not fond of the "vignet" style though)

I would definitely be looking to get them printed for my bikes :)

If you don't mind sharing later on, could you upload the PSD or attach to a forum post / PM ?

No Worries Dead Eye, ill email it over to you :)

wheres the st pirran flag

not as a constituent country, no ;)

I may not get any time with these today, perhaps later. I think ive just clicked onto the "grey overlay" you have been talking about - because the UJ flag is a bit darker than normal? its just the design of flag ive used, I can change it for a brighter one later :)

Personally I don't think it should contain and national reference. Isn't this a non political group primarily for owners of fazers, welcoming all regardless of racial, social and national background

The flags that make up the Union flag were being proudly flown long before America was even discovered  :D .
Anyway, thats another story for another post. It definitely needs something in the background, a flag seems to be the perfect choice to me.

shall we turn this into a a political thread  ;)

Personally I think of Flags as cultural identifiers
and I have found that it is always advisable to have some form of warning indicator on Scottish foccers  :pokefun

I may swap the flag of St George for a Raven and then we will have a religious element as well as political in this group of bikers who have no other identity other than being a biker, que Motorcyclists  :lol

Wouldn't that exclude a lot of others like 1000's and such.

FFS it's a badge,
Iets have a little freedom of choice here
Micks done a great job, and it's up to each individual to decide which they prefer,
If people don't want a flag then they can have a plain background, it's not rocket science

So
Without the origional 600 the 1000 wouldnt be here.

Ok so what about the Fazer decal in the background.

Great job Mick the tax disc badges all look great.

Imho no matter what the design is it will not please everyone, we are all allowed our own opinions, if you ain't happy with it you don't need to print/use it. I'm just saying like.
If you worried about falling off your bike, you'd never get on.

MarkWales looking at your avatar that small you canot see the flag and it looks good without it.
Like has been sugested can we not have the outside  a black tyre - the wording on the silver as now but smaller as if it were a brake disk and the logo smaller still in the centre of the brake disk. And between each word section have the famous fazer caliper blue dot - star thing
