Standard Exhaust Muffler Gasket
« on: 11 February 2016, 07:45:40 pm »
Does anyone know what is the best gasket to use for sealing the motad stainless downpipes and the original silencer please? Is it the wire mesh one or the weird graphite one? I'm pretty sure it needs one, never actually tried the original can on the stainless pipes before!

Personally I've never replaced the standard gasket - have you knackered it on removing the can?
Some say...

I knackered that one long ago, the metal mesh one. I think the one I have on now with my Mivv can is a graphite one but it was super tight getting it on so it most likely will break apart when I take the can off. Is the mesh one best with the standard exhaust then and will I need any silicone or anything to seal it in?

Yamazer, if you look on the Wemoto site they have the dims of the graphite one, this should be ok for what you need,no sealant should be required.

I sell them 13.50 Inc vat and postage.... Wemoto ones are too narrow and end up crumbling.
