New Fazer thou owner
« on: 04 February 2016, 01:53:53 pm »
Hi one and all,
My name's Pete and live near Croydon. I'm 69 and have been around bikes since 16, always managing to have something with 2 wheels and an engine despite kids, mortgages etc. I've just bought a 55 plate with 8k on the clock, red/black. It's bog stock other than a pyramid hugger, but once I've sold a couple of other bikes to pay off the loan on this one I'll be able to get going with pipes, handlebars etc. I'm hoping to go the high level pipe route very much like the Holeshot Performance one. I know it's old school, but I am old school.  I'll do my best to read through past advice on various subjects, and hope I don't ask too many dumb questions.

Hi and welcome to Fazer ownership & the forum!

I have just seen your post in the FZS1000 section - I don't know anything about high level exhausts, but I am sure someone will point you in the right direction shortly.

Oi oi,
It's started already. Yep it's a slow red one, but hope the black engine will give it the edge. This takes me back to the 60's when I got my first bike a BSA 250 C15, a fast red one not a slow green one.

Hi downey,
That's the look I'm after. I take the point about posting pics, but I'm not a computer guy. I do well just switching it on and sending the odd e-mail, all that photobucket stuff is far beyond me I'm afraid.

Welcome to the forum-you wont regret the purchase of the thou. I am not far behind you in years & downsized back to the 600. Stared many years ago (mid 60s) on low powered 2 strokes and old British iron....remember the C15... 0-73mph in 3 weeks with a following wind! :lol

Dave48,
Yep that was the one.Mind you back then 0-73mph in 3 weeks was quite impressive.
