Hi Foccers, I'm after the plastic bracket that supports the rear light unit. With the saddle off it's the bracket that the cross head screw in the middle of the tail piece, screws into. It's got 2 rubber bungs in it that give access to the rear lights. There's a couple of 10mm bolts that screw into it through the underside of the undertray, behind the numberplate. Not bothered if the bungs are missing. Thanks for looking. Robbo.

What a great bike for someone. It's always the way, after looking for ages for a minter I bought mine bog standard. Now in the last two days a couple of excellent bikes with useful modifications have become available. C'est la vie. Good luck with your sale that won't hang about long.

I'd check out the kill/starter switch. My old Speed Triple has given me grief with exactly the same symptoms especially when it's been in heavy rain, despite having changed the switch many years ago. I bet it would bump start ok when the fault occurs.Either the kill switch doesn't make contact when in the run position or the starter button contacts are failing to make contact, i reckon.

Hi Hedgetrimmer, Pretty sure the rust treatment stuff was called Jenolite. Used gallons of it in the 80's on the underside of my old Mustang.

Hi PieEater, Thanks for the link to the German site, that's useful. Yeah, I can see how you'd be able to get quite a bit of height adjustment back into your shock to save it being max'd out, seems a no brainer. Regarding the sidestand, I was just thinking ahead imagining the jack up would cause issues. If I can get hold of another sidestand to "play" with at least if the kit causes a problem I'll have something to work with. Thanks again Robbo.
Hi Markie, Wow what a great idea, thanks for that. I do wonder how it would hold up with the greater weight of the Fazer, but gives me another option to consider, and you can't have too many options. Regards Robbo.

Tex,
If you've got one knocking about that you don't need, that would be great. Thanks.
PieEater,
What lift have you gained from the dog bones alone, I was thinking of the 25mm ones from Devilsyam. A decent adjustable height shock is on my list but not this year. I just had it in mind that if the bike was loaded with camping stuff, the extra lean could result in it all going Pete Tong.
Thanks for your replies chaps.

Another question guys as couldn't find any info using Search. What's the best method of lengthening the sidestand when using jack up dog bones. I have heard that building up the "foot" with weld can cause the return spring to become a bit overwhelmed by the increased weight. As always, any input much appreciated.

CraigL,
Excellent. I'd like to know the outside and inside diameters, and also the overall outside length. I know Dale uses the most expensive carriers in the world, or so it seems, but could you let me know how much did the kit work out with import etc paid. Please pm if you'd prefer.
Thanks CraigL you're a star.

Hi RMT1983, Yep the Holeshot kit is what I was hoping to get made here, as the exchange rate/freight/import duty/vat etc makes it quite an expensive option, especially if I got a few sets made. Thanks for your suggestion.
Hi Falcon 269, Thanks for your suggestion, it's just I'm set on the caps idea now I've seen a picture of them. Just like the neatness of them I suppose.
Thanks again guys.

Bit of a tall order, but would anyone have a record of the dimensions of the ais removal fittings that justy used to make, and what would be the preferred material. Don't fancy going the tapered tap route and was considering getting a machine shop to make me a set. Thanks in advance.

Although they look trick. personally I'd have concerns of the brightness of the brake light obscuring the indicator when it's lit. Although the distance apart isn't covered by the MOT, there is a section to consider along the lines of a light not obscuring the operation of another. The regs regarding construction and use do say that the inner edges of the rear indicators must be at least 180 mm apart. I'm in the process of fitting an Ermax undertray and the instructions point out the 180mm construction rule. I considered integral indicators myself but will have to come up with something else once the undertray is fitted. They do look cool though.

Hi Nellog, Got them off, it is very much a leap of faith as I'm never keen on screeching bolts up tight. As you say, a decent 8mm socket with a breaker bar, sorted. Thanks for your reply. robbo
Hi markie_wales,
The stock bar weights screw into an insert on the stock bar. If you want to change to Renthals and keep the stock bar weights then getting the ends of the Renthals tapped to suit is the way to go. The stock bar weights are 308 grams. I did fancy the look of the R&G ones , but they're less than half the stock weight at 122.5 grams. Oberon do make stainless bar weights but I don't know what the weight is and the rrp of those is £35.
Hope this helps. robbo.
