Cost of sending a cycle through the post?!!
« on: 03 June 2015, 06:57:56 pm »
I have my custom fixed gear cycle on eBay as a collect only. I have been asked about the possibility of delivering, cost etc. I haven't had time to investigate properly so I was wondering if anyone had experience of this or knew rough costs and what company's/couriers do this ?
Many thanx

used to sell bikes on ebay, we sent them boxed up (front wheel, handlebars, removed) we used send it now, I think they charged £15 for UK delivery, they collect from your house then deliver

You'd be better off asking on one of the many cycle forums out there, but however you send it, ensure that it is *extremely* well insured!!

There's plenty on ebay advertising, just do a quick search for bike courier,  but as said above get insurance.
The other thing you can do is list your items as being able to be collected by courier if they organise it, then you dont have to do anything about it, apart from boxing it as stated above and being available for courier, but you can also say that you need courier to collect from your work etc if your not in during the day.
