APRILIA TUONO 1000 V-TWIN ***NEW PICTURES***

Hi Guy's,
I'm having a clear out and gauging what the interest in my TUONO would be...
The bike has 14,000 on the clock, FSH, has a HUGE spec list and is ridiculously MINT condition. By that I mean it looks new. DYNOJET stage 3, Aprilia racing wheels, Pirelli tyres, Brembo breaks, braided hoses, full Arrow system, carbon fibre stuff and the list goes on forever.
The Sprag Clutch needs done on it, which I would do prior to selling. It would received an oil and filter change at this time too.
It would break my heart to sell this bike, but if the right offer is there I will.
I will take pictures if there is any interest.
Cheers guys.

Dont tell me Nicko has 3 Tuono now......3 is too much!
Id love it.......i lust after one.......just the wrong time for me as i have absolutely no idea how much my Merc Sprinter pimp my ride project is gonna skin me & i need contingency.
All that being said i sure was tempted to consider getting you to sneak it to Glenrothes & stash it in my dads garage
......but i'd get cought out.
Out of interest though what price?

I don't know noggy. I don't NEED to sell it, but my early mid-life crisis isn't going to fund itself either.
Given the condition of it and the $$$ that's been spent on it, I'd be thinking £3,500. Less than that and I'd probably keep it TBH.
If your looking for a Tuono, this is the one to buy. I don't mean this model or this colour, I mean this actual bike. It is immaculate and has been loved from the day it rolled out the factory. I looked for ages to find the right one and I had to jump through hoops to get a hold of it.

Adee im all for supporting mid life crisis......otherwise known as not being little bitches
.....im having a pre-mid life crisis myself with all the things im buying although tbf i live quite modestly in most areas of my life.....i deserve a treat me thinks for next year.
You have always seemed a straight guy on here & tbh ive been semi stung on my current bike & my fz1 but i go in with my heart & my eyes wide open....hindsight is a great thing but useless once the deals are done.
Im just querying my old man about how full his garage is & id need a bit of assistance with getting the bike to him but if that can all be agreed on then id be an easy buyer to deal with.
I shall speak to my da & see what is what while my wife is at work & oblivious to what im up to
Cheers

No bother Nog. As I said, I want to do the Sprag clutch first anyway mate. It needs changing and I'd feel happier selling it done, especially to a Foccer.
If you want to proceed, PM me and I'll send you my number and we can arrange something.

No.
That would defeat the purpose of a clear out

Fantastic. You won't be disappointed.
Only issues with tuono's are a couple of the block connectors in the harness overheat causing poor charging voltage to battery. It should be 14+volts. My bike had a overheating connector, which was only allowing 13.7 at tickover. .
In the process of sorting it at the

moment
. They like a good strong battery. The standard is a ytx12bs, but you are better getting a ytx14bs with above 200cc (cranking power) and a weak back brake caused by brake fluid overheating because of the location of hose and they are prone to seizing...

Apart from that they are great. Loads of character with loads of midrange... And the sound is amazing.

Rear brake is shit period if you park on a hill don't be alarmed at the puddle oil as it comes from breather in airbox clutch slaves are also shit but plenty aftermarket ones
Other than that the bike is as mad as a box of frogs on a hot plate

Tuono has always been on my list of bikes to own because i sat on one in JT's Swansea a few years ago & it just seemed such a comfy riding poistion......should have got one then but i still enjoyed my journey with the FZ1 for pure power.
I love the character of the little trx engine but i do find myself wanting for a bit more starting at the speed limit ish overtakes if that makes sense
.
Plus my riding has changed due to being a dad i can no longer dissapear for whole days at a time i just need on demand hoonyness when i get the chance.
Would still like to keep the trx...maybe keep it up in scotland for when i visit......i still need to sort out the arse end of it with a cafe racer seat & some real indicators......ill sell it if i can get what it is worth to sell & with a cafe racer seat it will be more appealing to a bigger audience.
And ive looked up the Tuono issues, sprag which Adee is getting done, something about a brown wire melting somewhere and like Nick says the batteries are shit.......have also seen about the rear brake getting cooked and apparently there is a mod although it mentioned rearsets & i didnt get on with rearsets on the fz1........surely if heat is the issue there is an easier way to shield it???
Anyway it seems me & Adee are both just as busy & theres no rush but watch this space it shall be mine.......all miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!!!

The battery was changed and upgraded about 300 miles ago and it lives on an optimate. It's currently reading 14.2v. The rear brake has never given me an issue to be honest, but maybe that's lucky.
I like the exhaust on that modded one, but the Gixxer rear end isn't to my taste. Well, not on that bike anyway. I like the shotgun rear on the Tuono, I think it suits the bike well.
Ridiculously comfy bike for what it is.
Why am I selling this again..?
