Not really a fan myself and too young when he was at the hight of his fame, that said he was without doubt one of music greats and by all acounts a nice bloke.

Rip, fantastic artist, and indalvidlist

Mainly enjoyed his 70s style more than the more recent stuff but that just shows the genius the guy was...such a wide range and prepared (and able) to change.
RIP
-
I think he was a great artist and will be dearly missed, don't think he ever upset anyone, he came across as a very genuine guy.
Do you think he was saying goodbye with his latest stuff?

RIP great artist

Bowie was a great artist. Both Lemmy and Bowie - loved their songs, attitude, what they stood for.
-
Goodnight Starman-whoever thinks the 70's were dull, wasn't there!
-
deffo saying goodbye with his latest stuff, reminds me of when Freddie was dying......read between the lines of the song titles/vids and its their way of saying goodbye
-
He's earning another fortune this last couple of days!!!
Yes I genuinely did a double take at the breakfast telly when it flashed up and thought I had lost someone I knew for a minute. Quiet a weird feeling, as I was a fan of some of his music but not all of it that's for sure.
Incidently the last time I got the same feeling was when Elvis passed !!!!
-
He was definitely saying goodbye with his later stuff, people who worked with him knew and were sworn to secrecy. The guy was a legend - really is Major Tom now. Sad day.
