Sunny Costa Blanca today
« on: 18 January 2017, 05:04:51 pm »

Well glad I have not booked a week away for some winter sun in Spain this week. But at least they have the gear to handle what ever the weather throws at them.

Are you staying in Denia at the moment or was that just for the joke?
I used to live a few miles down the road in L'Albir and worked between Calpe and Altea. It's a lovely part of the country 👌😊

Surprised the council remembered where they had parked up their snow plough. When was the last time that got used? :)

Got to know Calpe quite well in the early 90's.Used to bike down there for a few weeks holiday and take in WSB when Albacete was on the race calendar. Very happy days :)

Yeah I loved it out there. Lived around that area from age 8 to 18. Just not enough work to stay there. I used to go back and work there in the summer but when the recession hit the whole place took a turn for the worse. Such a shame.
Still good for biking though, as long as your good at dodging Spanish 'drivers'

I lived between Calpe and Moraria for nearly 4 years until March last year. My Mrs wanted to come back to France to be near our Son and Grand daughter in Bordeaux. I hate this place , it is -7 just now, the roads for biking are crap and we are lucky if we see the family once a week. It is like a waiting room for god. I have told my Mrs we are selling up here and the UK so after 34 years together we are splitting up. She insists on staying in France , me I am heading back to Spain. I can drive or ride back to see the kids every 6 weeks or so.

Ah sorry to hear that Lew, I'm sure it'll be quite hard after 34 years together.
On the plus side the red hot summers, perfectly smooth roads and topless beaches of the Costa blanca are sure to help dull the pain......Well them and the size of the shots they put in their drinks haha

At the very least you've got some great summer riding ahead of you 🖒🖒
