Why not the new GoPro at £99 ?  Known brand, warranty, plethora of mount options

I called up an old race colleague who works at a yam dealers, he's sorting out the bolts, and some speedo assembly bulbs.  Job jobbed. :)

Actually, i cant see one of the bolts in that link... #9 and #10 are 2 of the culprits, the other, is the one that goes in above the clutch adjusting blanking plate.

2 of the 3 missing bolts have now been replaced from my collection of 'I'm sure this box of bolts will come in handy someday', not the most perfect matching lengths (washers have been put in for spacers) but will do for now, will order the correct ones from that really handy link further up the page (many thanks for that) tomorrow

After a week of suffering man-flu and a few missed training sessions...  Shit just got real.  I now know who my opponent is.  He's younger (maybe 10 years) and is in pretty good shape (daily cycling to work does that).

On the plus side, he's a 'metaller' so we'll have some awesome music on the go.

I got unnecessarily stressed last night, as i couldn't find my old TKD gum shield.  You know, sometimes you just need an old piece of kit for that familiar comfort.  Probably for the best that i couldn't find it though, as i haven't worn it in around 8 years and i'm sure it wouldn't match my mouth anymore have lost a few teeth since).

As I went up the slip road, there was no pressure on my clutch lever as I went to drop through the gears. Managed to slip into neutral and onto the side. 3 out of 5 bolts had at some point rattled loose and gone, and the remaining 2 were loose!
(Left side sprocket cover), so when I was trying to pull the lever, the casing was moving instead of moving the clutch.

Tightened up the remaining 2 bolts and was able to get home.

Where can I get these bolts??

Cheers

Fuggit, i've started the returns process to exchange to a M, as they will give a little once worn in.  I purchased from Busters (ebay) so hopefully should be a smooth process.

Just ordered some TZG4's, will let you know how they do (£18)

Any particular reason you went for the TZG4's not the 5's? Looking forward to your review!

£18 versus £30.  I think the 4's actually look slightly better too.  No other reason at all.

Arrived today.  Its not raining.  Build quality looks ok, nothing outstanding, but they were £18, not £80.  Certainly look like they should keep my delicate little pinkies snug, and they dont look like they'll fall apart quickly either.
Size wise, a bit roomy.  I suspect a M may have been a bit too snug (but perhaps after a bit of wear they be ok), am semi-tempted to swap them for a M, but then i might just be dicking around sending them back, getting M, finding them too snug and wishing i'd stuck with the L.

General / Re: Anyone bought a laptop docking station?
« on: 16 October 2014, 10:47:45 am »
Most days.
We use laptops that have a dock function built in, so the laptop just sits on top and clicks into place.  I cant vouch for 'generic' docks and how well they work i'm afraid.

Due to injuries i've sustained in the past, i think i pretty much have a small window of opportunity to be able to get the crazy shit done, so grabbing life with both hands whilst i can :D

« on: 09 October 2014, 04:09:42 pm »
Fuel low light used to work... would come on at around 195 if i been good, 170ish if i was less good... ;
now it doesnt come on at all!  Did a risky 200 miles and still no light.  Filled up 16.something litres at that point  ('99 FZS600, 18l tank i think? ).
any indicators on what i should be looking at or testing?  Fuel guage still works the same.
cheers

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Best headlight upgrade I've done so far
« on: 02 October 2014, 08:50:20 am »
I did the same a while ago, used Honda CRV H1 adaptor to deal with the H1 bulb.  Much brighter, yes!  Improvement over OEM, undoubtedly!
But, the light 'throw' is awful.  Its uncontrollable, and there will be area's that are patchy.  The reflectors are not designed to create a focal point for the HID.  The only way to do this safely, is by fitting projectors.

Cheers, yeah I don't think making weight will be a problem, I'm one of those naturally skinny guys who loses weight easy but gains weight hard - never thought it might come in handy until now

oh, stats...
Age: 41
Height: 5'11
Current Weight: 81kg

I expect to be down to around 78kg.

At 81kg i fall into the low end of CruiserWeight, which means i'm potentially giving away up to 10kg's.
At 78kg, i'm at the upper end of Light Heavyweight.
