Three nights ago my son was involved in an incident with the boyfriend of our next door neighbor !...all he did was put his arm out to stop him passing on the shared drive and getting in to her house!  the reason being not quite a week ago he had beat his girlfriend black and blue with a metal pipe! ,also threatening to kill her kids if she shouted out, whilst doing so?...anyway earlier the other evening when this happened she had sent for the police to get her and her kids away from the house has he was at her back door threatening to put a garden slab through the glass to get in after being turned away by her? he then did a runner before police turned up but came back later that evening!...anyway when my son confronted him and told him to go away he attacked him knocking him to the ground then kicking him in his ribs and breaking one?...my son managed to get a punch in knocking him over a fence, but he then came back at him like a raging bull and stamped on his head several times rendering him concuss! he then took to his heals and ran off again? we sent for the police and ambulance who didnt arrive for 58 mins?.....he was admitted to hospital they kept him in over night till 10am next morning!!...any way after the police advised my son to have him charged we where told to let them know when he was discharged from hospital so they would come over to take his statement!!...that was booked for tonight at 8pm!!...at 2pm he gets a phone call from the officer that is dealing with it saying ...that after reading through his notes he has decided that if my son goes ahead and prossicutes then he will have to arrest him for causing an affray!!! :eek ...and it will be him that gets done for confronting him!!! can this be right!??????????

« on: 13 May 2014, 08:17:44 pm »
Hi CRH

Going to check my front nut this week. If it is the 9mm one I'm going to replace it for the 12mm one. While I'm at it, thinking about going for the +1 Tooth sprocket (16T) on the front. How does it effect chain adjustment length?

Ref chain lgh it made 1 mark difference on mine ie wheel had to move 1 mark closer to the engine, thats all.
...yes same here approx 1 mark closer!...and i used a jt sprocket think it cost me £12...inc pnp

Given the decent mid range power, would anyone else suggest getting a front sprocket with one extra tooth and a rear sprocket with two less teeth - from riding my son's '03 Fazer 600 I reckon the bike would pull it easily and the difference would be noticeable at cruising speeds, but not in the lower gears (might help improve fuel economy on longer runs too).

Cheers

Just replaced my front sprocket with +1 ie 16T and is much better in my opinion. Pulls it easily but not altered rear sprocket. ;)
....did mine couple of wks ago!..left rear std and like it!!...knocks revs down in 6th bt 500 and the little vibration i had before through pegs is no more!!...not chkd mileage yet but should imagine it will have improved? will post when i know ;) .....performance still great too!!

And how easy is carb balance

Easy enough ;) Carbs out, tie some string around the carbs and hang them off a flat surface. If it hangs to the left add some weights on the right, if it hangs to the right add some to the left until it's balanced. Make sure you use a spirit level when you install them back on the bike ;)
....dude?..you are a fkn genius!! ;) ...never knew you could do it that way!! :rolleyes

« on: 22 April 2014, 05:31:34 pm »
OK. I have the clutch noise which send to have gotten slightly worse since yesterday. It goes away when I dip the clutch, but I'm planning on balancing tonight.

I however have a second ticking. Quieter, possibly faster than the clutch noise. I hear it sat idling, not sure if exist while on the move. If I select first, find the bite and push to counter it (so engine slightly pulling against my grounded legs) it goes.

Not sure if this noise existed before, couldn't say I noticed.

Any clues
.......yes take off your fkn ..watch!! :D
