If the financial advisor wouldn't help I'd have asked for his superior and escalate up to the branch manager making a fuss as I went. The magic words to use in any complaint now are:

I was mis-sold this product

It is in the public road so council parkies. If I had the web in my hand i would have known the rules - But I didn't and the council didn't bother informing me in any way such as a sign. i will probably end up paying but I've appealed and will make them work for it.

Chaz - beaten one of those in the past by sending them an offer of £1 (the cost of parking locally for an hour) and they went away. The 'fine' cannot be significantly more than the 'damages' or its not enforceable

General / Re: Spot light on indicator?
« on: 18 June 2015, 04:59:50 pm »
The bikeviz bullets don't give any light just make the bike more visable. Ebay is full of equivalents now - I have a couple fitted and were £4 fitted and look just like the bikeviz ones.

If you want extra light then there are lots of ways
 - as above run two lights,
or run HIDs (and both lights),
HIDs with reflectors (big job involving splitting the lights with heat and resealing,
Run LED headlights - they are dearer but have a neater pattern and Mr MOT likes then ( I have one on Dip)
- or fit spot lights - lots of versions on fleabay and you could use a use HID or LED versions. Easy enough to wire in

Its pay and display - but bikes don't have to in Brighton and Lewes. When I moved here I called and they confirmed this

6
Parked in a regular bay in Brighton for half an hour today and got a ticker for £70 - "Parking in a parking place or area not designated for that class of vehicle" - there is no sign anywhere saying cars only and I have used this spot for years to pop into the shops. There is  bike bay now it seems 500 yards away but it was hidden by cars and i didn't see it as I was walking the other way.

Just stick some HIDs in and wire both on at the same time and you will be sorted

The credit card approach is also risky if something happens money wise during the 27 months

I use a sony but if starting out I'd go with Nikon or Canon just because there are more people to help you learn and accessories and lens are more easily available
I wouldn't go second hand - they tech is moving so quickly  used are much worse than entry level new ones and there is no price difference. I'd grab a Nikon D3200 - with  the 18 -55 lens will set you back £250- £280 depending on how much you trust no name internet shops!

Have a few for us this year, still can't believe I have chosen to do exams instead of drinking. :(

« on: 13 February 2015, 08:18:05 pm »
Sorry yup being sarcastic - 50k miles and not a shred of grip left on them but only just leaking. I'm a tight arse and in 2009 when i  bought them I paid £190 out of desperation having spent 3 hours in a meeting with soggy freezing cold feet for the third time that week. These must be my best biking buy ever

So after 5 years and one monsoon 50 mile ride in monsoon conditions my TCX goretex boots have leaked  :eek

So should I ask for my money back or buy a new pair?

If its this one - a: its not mine and b: he appears to have put a one in front of the price by accidenthttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-FZ6-FAZER-FZ600-2003-53-Plate-Recent-Service-Tyres-Discs-Pads-And-C-S-/151537200188?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item2348522c3c

£1800 for an 11 year old bike with 56k is far too much. That was the first year of the FZS - they got a lot better. Look for an S2, for £500 more you will get a low mileage S2 which is 5 years newer like
261723529731 although its cat D

or £700 more for a naked one  301452231135 in Tooting. He's leaving the country so I bet he would take an offer

BTW I mine sold for £650

« on: 16 January 2015, 08:51:30 pm »
I've been back to leather past couple of years, but a modern one with textile flexible panels in places. With a fleece underneath and a waterproof dickies hiviz storm jacket on top when raining.   I have goretex trousers with leather panels.

She was 17 and gave consent. Might have been illegal in some jurisdictions but beyond the statute of limitations so he won't be in court anytime soon. I'm sure she was well paid then and getting well paid now for selling her tales. The miserable money grabbing whore she slept with should change his name to Tyrion.....

« on: 14 January 2015, 07:29:00 am »
This might be my fault  : :o Paul English the wemoto boss at one point was in the shop when I went to collect service parts (they are local to me) and I was moaning that I couldn't find a sump washer.  He said he'd get some in and put them with the oil filter so we could order both at the same time.  He probably never imagined anyone would just want the washer.  In fairness they have always been really good with me.  I used to have an old honda Japanese import vrx400 and I sheared the head of a caliper bolt over tightening it.  They didn't sell them new but Paul grabbed one from a another model they were breaking and didn't charge me.

General / Re: So, what's the old bike worth...?
« on: 12 January 2015, 07:10:34 pm »
Mine was a lazy quick sale - a third bike wouldn't fit in the garage and I didn't have time to flog it piecemeal.  If private took a month and got you 700 after ten messers  have poised you off promising and not showing is it worth it?  Is never going to be worth much more

Don't forget to enjoy shopping. As you are definely buying don't feel guilty about trying a few other bikes - just in case you decide you need more horses after all....

Have to agree with Joe,  now loams are cheap there are other options.  I know finance deals from the dealers are easy but you pay a lot for owning new. Have a lot at flea Bay at the demonstrators of the bikes you have identified. Instead of 6250 you will be paying 5000 for a bike with 1500 miles.
