Brake pads?
« on: 21 November 2020, 07:18:13 pm »
Just wondered who makes the original Yamaha brake pads?  Had a look at mine today while changing the brake fluid, they are o.k but just checked the price from Yamaha 😡 bloody hell!  Don’t want anything fancy that rips the disc to shreds, any recommendations?
If at first you don't succeed, pull your foreskin ower yer heid!

Either: EBC FA252HH or FA380HH sets of pads or SBS street excel sintered. You'll find others cheaper but IMO nowhere near as good.  Have just switched back to SBS myself, have to wear the new pads in tomorrow  :)

Same, after advice from Gnasher. Had enough of bloody EBC pads eating my discs.

Although they’re ridiculously expensive, I’ve stuck with genuine Yamaha. Read an article on the US site where the poster was still on the original discs at 100k miles, and attributed this to using the stock pads.

Std pads are the best option but as you say expensive, SBS are as close as you're going to get in my opinion. ;)

Hello,
I have an FZ1 SA 2012 ABS, and looking for new brake pads. I want something with a strong instant bite. I mainly use the bike for sporty road riding, and the odd track day. Do people recommend the SBS 634SP or the 634HS?
Thanks.
