+1 for the yamaha tool kit one, it really is the easiest way that I found of getting the little sods out and more importantly back in again!

make sure it has the rubber bit in it (it grips the plug). The one is my toolkit didnt have it so was crap.

Toolkit, sigh..... if only!
Some dick lost all the docs and handbook etc for mine, owner before the one I bought it from. Luckily, the local bike shop know it and sold it twice so had some info for me.
Good luck with the plugs.

+1 for the yamaha tool kit spark plug socket as it seems like the only one that does the job perfectly.

I never had the tool that came with the bike so I use a long 1/4'' drive socket and extension, I stuff a rubber washer up the socket so I can pull out the old plugs once they are unscrewed. I'm careful to remove the washer before screwing in the new plugs though, otherwise the socket stays with the plug and pulls off its extension and thus gets marooned in the plug hole.

Some ham-fisted muppet had used my toolkit plug spanner to try to undo the front wheel (I assume) and it's knacked. However I managed to use a socket with a long bar and a swivel joint on it, plus one of those bendy grabber thingies. Replaced all 4 plugs without an issue. See pics:
