Well wear Rob and best of luck with it. Maybe now it will get the usage it deserves
Keep an eye on the rubbers on it carefully as they are likely to perish and crack from age related lack of use.
Check the intake rubbers and Vacuum take of point plugs after a few weeks of use for cracks. The vacuum take off plugs are even more prone to cracking than the intake rubbers.
Check the tyre dates on the side wall of the tyre also, they will be the week number and the year since 2000, something like 4916 the 49th week of 2016 or 3609 the 36th week of 2009.
Tyres more than 10 years old should be replaced (over 7, I would replace them) they go hard with age and grip level is greatly reduced.
The vacuum take offs look fine, as do the inlet rubbers. One of the vacuum take offs has been replaced for the Scotoiler vacuum feed. The tyres are fine. The paperwork backs up tyres changes. Currently Avon Storms.
I see Russ has been given a bit of stick but he's a genuine guy and truly passionate about bikes.
He is also a humourless nerd that takes everything that people say to heart. What started this off was, what I thought was a very funny throw away line about the time showing on the bike clock time and the abundance of sunshine at the time of taking the photo.
The guy is so stiff, if he was to take the broom stick out from up his arse he might be a happier soul.
Sure you can see that he loved the bike by the condition of it, but looking at the mileage it was hardly ever ridden and I assume it was always garaged so it should be good so not a lot of credit to him for that.
Anyway Rob you have a great looking machine there and I am sure you will derive a lot of pleasure from owning it, you say you had a 99 FZS600, well you will not notice a great deal of difference between that and the Foxeye it really is just a facelift, but one thing that will leap out at you is the new shaped headlights they are far superior and a few more miles between fuel stops on the slightly larger fuel tank.
Hope you stay on the forum matey. T
hat is more than I can say for the twat you bought the bike from lol
