I'm after another replacement screen as the MRA one isn't doing it for me.
I've seen this one on a picture on google but I'll be damned if I can find one for sale.
Can't even find it on the site as they are selling the MIVV exhaust.
Anybody know what this is, and where it may come from??

It could be the Givi touring screen.....??
-
Is it power bronze touring !!
-
mmmm I tried to insert an image of my fazer with a Givi screen but it would not appear :(
so if there is a quick way to add pics to these posts someone let me know!
Cheers

i find photobucket the easyest to use
its deff a touring screen of some sort
-
With that flip at the top, it looks similar to my "Yamaha Touring Screen" but mine hasn't got the edging fitted to it.
-
Let us know if you find out as im always interested in trying a new screen. I couldnt get on with the MRA either or the Zero gravity or the Yam tourer ive kept the Powerbronze D/B on but to be honest its not much use either :lol
-
This Yam Tourer is quite noisy at speed. If I raise my helmet an inch or so, the buffeting stops. I need to be a little taller!
Wife's been telling me for years that every inch matters :lol
-
Screens are such a personal thing loads of people rave about one so you buy it,try it and it doesnt fit you. Lots like the Yam tourer I thought it was downright dangerous.
-
I thought it was downright dangerous.
How ?

I thought it was downright dangerous.
How ?
I was wondering that too?
Anyway, I bought one of these and I'm quite happy with it. Not perfect but better than stock and better than the double bubble I had also. It looks very much like the one you asked about in the picture. If your bike's blue there's a second hand blue one on for £25.00 at the moment.

What handguards are these ? They look like they fit well :)

Screens,screens,, bloody screens :eek
Well i dont know whats the best,
a while ago i had a 1100 virago , no screen, ride around at the ton , no problem with noise, not really any blast at all.
then the vfr with a double bubble, sometimes it seemed good then other times it was buffeting,,i think i always found that by sitting up in clear air was much quieter, or duck down right behind it , then silence but lay down.
Now a high givi touring screen, and alot more speed :lol , at normal seating position the air is lifted and released right at head height so the quietest place is to duck a little totally behind the sceen,, then silence,,so really the screen needs to be about 3 foot tall,,not good is it :'(
I might try a shorter screen so i can choose to ride up in the clear air again, and duck down low at speed.
tall is not the answer all the time,,mpg may go down,
Anyone got a used fzs1 screen, or double bubble for me to try.i have money :lol

Hand guards are the Suzuki vstrom 650 ones, they work fine, but I had to make a little adapter out of aluminum to stop them fouling the levers (as you can see on the middle pic), but others on here have done much better jobs with no extra bits needed :)
-
Tried the orignal screen, Yamaha touring screen and now settled with a Fabbri dark tint screen.....which has been the best so far.
I use Barkbuster handguards on my bike......expensive but work well for me.

I used to have an FJR1300 with electrically adjustable screen. And it proved to me that it's just silly to expect a particular fixed-height screen to suit everyone. On the FJR, I could make tiny adjustments "on the fly" and find the perfect height, but if I altered my speed by another 15-20mph, I had to re-adjust it. Or if I shifted forward or backward every so slightly on the seat, I had to adjust it. Or if I slouched a little or sat bolt upright...... you get the picture.
The perfect screen just doesn't exist.
-
I totally agree with the "maddawg" :lol
But has anyone found that sitting in clear air is sometimes fine, you know , undisturbed straight onto your helmet.
-
Fabbri double bubble or zero gravity double bubble with wings removed.
It's a toss up between looks and function for me. The fabbri looks great on the outside and fugly on the inside, narrow view down to clocks. The zero gravity looks better all round and works better all round.
Touring screens may work well but couldn't stand ugly looks, might say different if I was sat on motorway for hours at constant speed with head buffeting behind lower screen :'(

I just bought a double bubble from SMOKN of fleabay, no head turbulence now but its NOISY!!!!! bit of buffettimg on the shoulders but dont know if Im noticing that cus theres non on me ed £42 including post bargain

After 2 years use I had convinced myself that the mra vario no better than either the standard or yam touring screen that i had used previously. Last week end I replaced it with the touring screen , Thinking to get some money back in the bank from a new helmet mistake. After only a short ride it was obvious that the vario had been a worthwhile improvement in terms of wind noise and less battering. Strangely not quite so effective as the home made vario that I have on my foxeye 600. but worth keeping. For info I am 5ft 7 ins

Biggest problem with the fazer is the angle of the screen and how low it is...dont think any screen will ever give a still air ride.TBH my favourite bike for high speed riding has been my 1050 speed triple with a bloomin fly screen on it. Yes there is a little wind blast , but no buffetting, no noise, and for me totally OK up to 130mph before I ducked down a bit. No screen on the fazer has ever been right for me. I have found the vario works best, but it still aint really the total solution. The stock screen just funnels wind blast straight onto my chest, the yam touring screen straight onto my visor !...the vario a bit higher, but still a bit of blast , and lots of flies...
One word of warning about fitting barn door screens is they really firm up and slow the steering in crosswinds, to the point of ruining the handling of the bike.I fitted a huge screen to my GS and hated it, looked shit , slowed up the nice steering, the gains were totally outweighed for me ...went back to the stocker ( though am still messing about with it).I even think massive screens can be dangerous on a fast bike like a fazer , because of the crosswind issue affecting steering.
If you look at world superbikes, they justfit a bouble bubble...but I spose wind roar aint a big issue for them...
-
I don't think the vario is higher than the touring screen ! I also tried a huge rifle screen last year , I found it awful because the top of the screen was at eye level and I was either looking through or over it (either way bad) I am just glad that i had come across it cheap enough to get my money back. I would agree that you are never going to get out of the wind roar/blast with a Fazer. With the vario on my 600 I can get out of the buffeting ,but the roar is still a huge issue, I would think it true that as so posters have pointed out, the mirrors must contribute a lot to the noise ? For my own two peneth i would guess the cbr 600 with double bubble was the best bike that i have ridden for wind protection, but I found with the cocoon of a sports bike it is very hard to keep a licence

After years on a naked bike, the standard screen seems sheer luxury to me! Anyone got the Streetfighter screen I could try, to get a bit more breeze?
-
I had a zxr750 with standard screen and it seemed fine thinking back,,
so i am looking for a double bubble screen, for fz1 ,any out there?
-
I have a street fighter screen I use sometimes as under 100 ish I find it the best for me. No wind noise and works well. But much over and it's awful
Most of the time I use the db screen. Loud but works ok ish.
-
having been out again the double bubble has to come off way to noisy, Id sooner have the noise..
