Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: Bar Risers
« on: 11 April 2015, 11:39:26 am »
I have fitted bar risers on mine had them done by the guy who services the bike, He said that there was enough cable and all the gubbins to fit them without having to reroute anything.

You really want the dealer to be doing the recommended servicing whilst the bike is under warranty.

If you don't and something goes wrong, you wont have a leg to stand on.

Providing you use a VAT Registered garage it will not affect your warranty and they can also stamp your book  we have done this with both brand new cars and bikes.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: Previous FZS600 Owners
« on: 30 March 2014, 05:32:19 pm »
Ok here goes, I bought a FZS600 as a hack as I have a XJR1300 that I have blinged up so wanted something I could ride any weather then the wife pasted her test rode the FZS and wanted it now I loved the FZS so I bought the FZ8.

I found it more comfortable to ride just as good handling (it is a bit better) it does what it says on the tin.
I,ve now got to the point where I just don't have the time to ride two bikes so one has to go so as much as I love it the XJR is going.

Having said all that its looking like I might lose the FZ8 to the wife as she wants to upgrade but as I bought the white one which is wanted I will by another one in black.
Hope this helps with your question.

My 2012 only has 1600 miles on the clock but I am having a oil and filter change done just to make be sure the oil is not breaking down and to be on the safe side.

to be honest the amount of time I get to ride it will take me about 5 years to get it to 6000 miles so prevention is better then cure.

thanks for the pics guys, I always find it difficult to evisage what they might look like once on the bike, short/long etc. I do like the look of the Mivv and was looking at one of those but have to say the Dan moto seems to get a good feback for its price on the web. Only seem to come from China though which always gets my pessimistic side rising?

I had no problems when I ordered mine it only took a week to arrive. :)

Does the fazer 8 not have a centre stand?

No its an optional extra on the 8.

I have one of the Danmoto cans on mine cost £100 off of Ebay fits good is nice and loud (no baffles in) but if you go down that road make sure you get the baffles at the same time.

Why not look at the ABBA stand will fit any bike and is easy to use.

Even my Mrs can use it on her own.

Fazer8 / FZ8 / Re: FZ8 - short lived model
« on: 22 February 2014, 11:06:15 am »
Iv had my Fazer8 for just short of two years now and really like it.

The wife is going to try it out this year as her FZS600 is getting a bit tired now so if she gets on with it il lose it to her, so I have had fun at the shows and dealers looking and trying other bikes but no joy so im going to get another Fazer8 in a different colour.

As for the MT range don't like it It feels to short, btw the reason the wife wants my bike is I bought the white one which is what she wanted.

:foc MT 09!!! ;)
I'll be sticking with  :faz 's,
Stick a Fazer sticker on it & i'll consider.
But if i eventually replenish my funds i'll be getting me a nice, cheap, & probably sadly forgotten Fazer 8.
Poor fazer 8 :\
Had my Fazer8 for just over a year now and love it only gripe I have is the size of the tank would have been better with a 20 litre tank.
when I have finished with it (if I do) the wife has already got her eyes on it to repace her fzs600. :)

Had mine since last year love it but i spend my time riding it not posting on a internet forum. :evil
Fortunately I am able to do both as I am "retired" but will be looking after my grandsons 3 days a week next month which will cramp my stile a bit :\
However still leaves 4 days for riding, so planning to make the most of it :lol
And posting on another site we both belong to. :thumbup

Some drivers are that dumb, but half the time cyclist get what they deserve.
If they were to take notice of the highway code and stop at traffic lights  keep off the pavements and ride with a bit of consideration for other road users they may get treated differently.
As for no insurance and road tax don't get me started.
