Ah sorry maybe I should have clarified imeant something after market. Like the CNC pieces you see offered for bikes with the blocks visible.
I've seen cnc bullet caps for the ends just no blocks.

FZS600 Fazer / Gen 1 fzs600 axel adjuster blocks
« on: 13 July 2018, 05:29:58 pm »
Does anyone here know if aftermarket axel blocks are available for the Gen one fzs600.
I'm have g a hard time finding anything aftermarket for a captive axel block other than Harley items. Everything else seems to be for bikes where the axel block is on the outside of the swingarm like a dirt bike or modern bike but the gen1 is boxed in.
Will anything from another bike fit the space and stock spindle?

Do you have a rear caliper? Can see a bracket but can't see a caliper

that looks like a good size piece of kit - easily hidden aswell - im not looking into trackers just yet untill the fighter build is underway
- one of the big problems with them is the other half can track you at all times which might not be a good thing.

one of his videos mentions that. nt about his other half, but that you can limit the numbers that can interact with the device.

he had cold callers ringing, which get a message with the location on it and drain the credit so by limiting the numbers, only his own phone can acess it till he activates another number. say the cops, or a mate helping locate it whatever. ive not set mine up yet but hoping it works over here. malins sell them here so they must do.

i've a 76 vw camper.

unless you love oldschool vw's dont. (i've had jettas, have a mk1 golf gti and getting a beetle soon)
you'll have your head fried and your wallet empty.

but they arent nearly as unreliable as people might think.
and well looked after will happily plod along for years trouble free.

anything modern will be much better if you just want a camper rather than wanting an old vw.

« on: 19 September 2017, 02:08:50 pm »
I've pushed a deauville 4 miles on a shredded rear tyre up hill in the countryside once. also, pushed the fazer 2 miles up hill when i accidentally disconnected part of the wiring loom going over a bump and didnt know at the time.

as plenty have said, you dont need a helmet to push it. thats not only dumb but dangerous.
best of luck to any plod who thinks otherwise. nice easy claim there if they try arrest you or take you to court.

as also mentioned. traffic laws apply to MPV's (mechanically propelled vehicles) if its not capable of being mechanically propelled, then its not an MPV and no requirements are on you to have your shit in order.
we have the same rules here in ireland for the most part. even heard of convictions of a guy who was sleeping in the back seat of his car and he was found guilty of being drunk and in charge with intent to drive (the intent to drive is in our law, not sure about the uk, if you had no intent to drive with proof youd be okay to, like parked at an airport carpark with your flight the next morning etc.) as he had said he didnt intend to drive till morning.

pull the coils off and you're safe.

can that be gotten off in the frame?

So you think damaged 6th gear itself might be the cause?
I was thinking that was a possibility.

FZS600 Fazer / Another noise thread. Clutch basket?
« on: 18 September 2017, 04:01:22 pm »
torn between adding to another thread and not wanting to hijack,
I'm having some strange noises coming from the bike.
It's only present in 6th gear and only on accelerating.
If I let off the throttle it stops. If I clutch it it stops even while twisting the throttle.
Drop down a gear it goes away right away.

It's not having any effect on performance. Bike pulls hard. But the chattering is fairly loud.
Sounds like I'd imagine the bike would sound if the clutch pack was hitting off the arms of the clutch basket.
I know the xjr has a common issue with te pin on the back of the basket causin it to rattle but I don't think it's the same on the fazer.

Any ideas? Could it be the clutch basket?

FZS600 Fazer / Re: bar end weights/sliders
« on: 01 September 2017, 11:17:33 am »
The screw comes out nice and handy but it's as if the weight inside the bar is not in enough. But won't come out either. Can I got any sliders to the weights in the bars already?
They are fairly tatty but more so from paint coming off and starting to tarnish than gouges from a drop

They're suppose to have that much gap?
Like 5 to 10 MM. at least.

What if I want to change them to a different style. How do I get the weight out from inside?

its not like you have to pay for them if you dont like the tyres after riding on them.

FZS600 Fazer / bar end weights/sliders
« on: 30 August 2017, 09:42:22 pm »
anyone got any tips for me?
the bar end weight/slider in my bars seem like they are not in right.
theres a gap between the bar end and the "underside" of the bar end slider that it would sit against. and no amount of pulling or hammering seems to make the weights move in or out.

how do i get these things out to replace with new ones?

you're not in ya cant win, i'm in ireland, so that's probably ruling me out right away, but, it could also provide an advantage.

i do a lot of miles.

i commute almost 200km a day to work and back,
i ride in all weather conditions, usually shite weather. even snow last year.

i do some slow group rides,
some fast hooligan riding,
and some flat out very high speed runs on private roads.

long motorways and twisty back roads.
and a newcomer to michelin tyres so unbias

« on: 30 August 2017, 03:28:07 pm »
meant to say i saw your bike in another post and do like the look of the all black with no rail. if this doesnt work out i'll be doing the same. its an excuse for the ladies to have to scoot up close and tight if they do join me for a spin too.

in the mean time, i think i've managed to find a bit more info.
there are definitely seat cowls for the fzs600 that are direct bolt on, but there are also ones that have brackets included to mount them.
a member here had one for sale a few years ago and looks like the actual one im holding here by his pic, and in his ad states that brackets are included. theres no maker though but i think it may be tcp aerodynamics. anyone know if they are still in business?
pics to follow

well i havent pulled the grab rail off, only sat it in place over the rail, just to see how it looked.
it looks like one of the grab rail holes lines up on each side but not the other. thats whats puzzling me. the fact that its the holes not lining up despite the shape appearing to be spot on.

How did it come back to you?
Original buyer return it or police action?
Either way congrats on gettin it back.

FZS600 Fazer / Fzs 600/1000 tail and seat cowl
« on: 30 August 2017, 04:19:25 am »
So I own a 2000 model fzs600 originally fitted with the wide grab rail. When my chain snapped it kicked up and smashed the left side and I replaced it with the tail plastics of an earlier gen 1 with the bar grab rail as the holes are a different size from early to late gen 1.

Now I want to fit a seat cowl and found a bargain one and snapped it up.
But now that it arrived it doesn't look like it fits. Having a quick look seems to be the right shape and light it lines up but the mounting point holes do not. They look further apart than the holes on the bike.
Could this be a cowl for a 1000?
Are the tails mounting holes different on the 1000?

seems strange to go for an exhaust to fix a firing problem lol
Think you misread my comment.
I want to fix the firing problem before I order my exhaust.
Seperate altogether but pointing out I'm wary of spending big on the full exhaust system only to have to spend big on the engine if I can't fix it. One thing at a time.

a quick look at the bike before work i managed to fire the bike up and pull each plug cap off and only number 3 came off without the bike idle being effected. so 2 and 3 on the same coil but only 3 was effected.
then swapped cap 3 onto spark plug two and fired it up, again, pulling it off dropped the idle. couldnt get to try lead 2 on spark plug 3 as it wouldnt reach (dont have time to take things apart before work to make it reah) but im guessing it wouldnt have done a thing.

so as you say, coil appears to be okay. and im guessing by the fact i put the lead and cap from 3 which wasnt running onto two which was, that rules out the caps or leads being at fault either.

next step clean the carbs? strip them off the bike or carb cleaner into the intake while its running?
i did drain the 4 bowls the other day and there was plenty of small bits of debris in each bowl. but didnt remove the bowls or the carbs at all.

Hoping to get a chance to try this in the morning before work

I'm hoping to solve this issue before splashing out on a brand new stainless exhaust system. Don't want to do that to find something drastically wrong with the bike after splashing out.

i know this is an old thread, but its the only one i found.
im having some misfiring issues and cylinder 3 is the culprit. ive replaced the plugs and have ngk caps fitted. trimmed the ht leads to freshen them up, and still not running right.
i was looking t replacing the coils and thought about upgrading.
has anyone else, tried this mod and how did you get on?

stupid question, but, want to make sure im reading it right, but, the +- wires at the bottom of the diagram are going into the loom right?
a in, they would be the terminals on the oem coils as standard. or is there a modual seperate to the individual coil packs on the zx636?
