Hi mate, how's it going?Just checked with a tape measure and they're an honest 36".  They have a small amount of stretch but not enough to get you out to 38".
Im grand fella, well thats a shame. The jacket is a straight fit but Im a hard 38"/102cm waist atm. Its a very good deal, so am sure someone will be along shortly.

Afternoon Mike, how close to 36" is the waist? is it closer to 38" ..?

« on: 26 June 2022, 07:52:25 am »
I have an FZ1 SA 2012 ABS, and looking for new brake pads. I want something with a strong instant bite. I mainly use the bike for sporty road riding, and the odd track day. Do people recommend the SBS 634SP or the 634HS?

Check my FZS1000 for sale thread, I have 2 pairs of brand new unopened EBC pads

For Sale & Wanted / Re: wiring loom wanted
« on: 24 June 2022, 01:01:55 pm »
I am looking for the loom that is inside the fairing on an 06 gen 1 fazer 1000, i am removing the fairing and replacing it with a single headlight and as the fairing is complete i would rather get another wiring loom to alter
If your referring to the sub-loom that connects to the headlight and clocks. I might have one, I will need to have a look in the box of electrical spares.

I used gauze bandage and epoxy laminating resin. Easier to work with than glass fibre and plenty strong enough once laminated. Lasted till I sold the bike.
Got some links to the epoxy laminating resin? and how flexible was the repair..?

I've heard of a trick involving superglue and baking powder, I think the trick is to vee the crack a bit and fill with the powder then flood with superglue, it's supposed to bulk it up and cure it almost instantly
There are proper kits ( that use this method and come with some kind of powder. Strong but a ridged, inflexible repair.
use a soldering iron on the back to "weld" it back together then the front just needs repainting to hide the remnants of the crack.
Heard of this and there are proper kits for this that come with metal staples you melt into the plastic across the crack. Both methods create a ridged, inflexible repair.

But just came across this -

And then these DIY methods that melts the plastic chemical to melt/weld a thin ABS plastic washer to both sides of the mounting holes -

oh dear, sounds about as bad as what a so called mate did to the tank on my GSF1250. Essentially put the think in a bin bag and rested it against a wall, petrol came out of the cap and ran down the middles of the tank stripping off all the paint.

General / Help and suggestions: fix cracks in abs plastic
« on: 22 June 2022, 08:23:54 pm »
So like all my previous fazers, my latest has the same damn annoying issue with the plastic cracking next to the mounting holes. We have all run into this problem, but due to the scarcity of the parts (in this instance only one infill for my 2007 FZ1 in all of Yamaha Europe) and that was before Brexit/Covid I am looking for an alternative way of repairing cracks on the infill on my FZ1.

So have tried epoxy resin, but its just too brittle. I had considerd plastic weld, but don't know if that will work as some of the ABS plastic on the infill is only 2-3mm thick. So my next idea/plan is to try fine fibre glass mesh on/around the affected area.

Would like/welcome some other suggestions.

YSS are basically budget shocks, you get what you pay for - which I think is worse than a stock FZS1000/FZ1 shock.

Check my parts and accessories thread -

As mentioned in private chat, my backup plan was to migrate the forum to a local server and then just cover the costs of the domain hosting myself. For the little traffic the forum gets this should be doable.

Received my CoC yesterday. The dept. did say they were updating the central list to include FZS1000(S), which is their first point of reference, when ULEZ compliancy applications are made. Just got to sort out the TfL bit now.
I have contacted my local london MAG to see if this is something they can chat to TfL directly about getting sped up.
