For Sale & Wanted / 04 FAZER 1000
« on: 02 September 2013, 10:27:21 am »
Still in the shed, its on ebay and if it deosnt fetch £1500 i will break it for spares...so if any one out there is needing anything please get in touch so I can have a idea..Its a complete running bike, with no faults, only thing to mention is we have removed the EXUP, and it was warped, and cables ruined.

Seems a shame, but the high miles must be putting people off, and i need it gone! in bits or whole.

Sorry to hear about the Bandit. :z

Some more pics,.

Im in Sunny South Wales, 15 miles from Brecon, if anyone would like to come for a ride, and see for themselves if a bike that has been ivanised and air mod done, but without the EXUP can still perform....then please get in touch, we'll put this argument to the test, and put some substantial evidence behind hit, rather than finger tapping.  ;)

7
if your interested PM me and ill email you some, believe you me, the EXUP valve makes no difference in my opinion, ive ridden with and without, and the cost of replacing one with a bike that has been ivanised and performance can is not worth it, take it from someone who knows!

Not sure why i cant post any pics, perhaps it my browser, cant paste the img links, ill try it with IE instead of Firefox.

For Sale & Wanted / 2004 Fazer 1000 FZS..For sale....worth a look..
« on: 06 July 2013, 11:21:51 am »
Had this on ebay to see what it would do, few offers, but nothing that would separate me form this Fazer. Its a high miler, 62,000 and climbing, but still loads of life in the old girl yet...R6 rear shock unit with polished dog bones, Ivanised Carbs, Renthal bars, CNC Custom levers, Scott oiler, fresh oil filter and coolant, the engine has been cleaned up and sprayed, Carbon Com Can, Chain, sprockets, pads, discs all very good, new clutch lever, the EXUP HAS BEEN REMOVED, this is my second Fazer 1000, first one never had the Ivan jet kit, but had the exup, and to be honest, this Fazer for sale, pulls harder at higher revs, as the two lads in Swansea last night found out, whilst trying to show off on their GSXERs, engine sweet as, same as box, still pulls well over 150mph, on private roads.....reason for selling, still in my thirties, havent matured enough to be able to ride a bike like this sensible, i drive for the Royal Mail, and its only a matter of time!!

Had it on the ebay for £1895, but would accept lower, not to low, or swap for a Tiger or a nice V twin ect...  if it doesnt make make £1600 plus, ill break it for parts...

all in all, a high mileage bike, with some nice extras, clean and mechanically sound, and great value for money...any questions give me a buzz...07894036662

Cheers
Ben.

cant load pics, pm me, and ill email you some...

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Re: intermitent exup fault, any ideas?
« on: 28 April 2013, 11:11:34 pm »
I beg to differ, bike is far more subtle on low revs without the EXUP, making easier riding through traffic, less jerkiness, but in saying that, im  making that assumption without riding the bike in the town, just what it felt like when i rode it over mountain roads,

11
The difference isnt that great, unless your a purist, take it out, and keep it knocked down a gear! 8)

Cost of replacing a worn and corroded EXUP, compared against the slight increase in response, is in my opinion, not worth it, ive rode a Fazer with and with out, and unless your racing, you really are not going to miss it!

Fact!

It does not show on the Insurance, neither the log book, the only way you can tell is if you do the HIP check...

It is short sighted "FACT" :rolleyes , that some one would not buy a bike because of the past history, lost of people who havnt got fully comp had had their bikes thrown down the road, second hand fairing and past it on without the new person knowing, at least if someone does the correct thing and inform their insurance company, there is a record of what damage was sustained therefor your able to check to see if the work has been carried out correctly...

I agree, there should be a slight decrease invalue, but not much, but there, its all in the eye of the potential buyer, i bought mine with a CAT D, and to be honest i havent seen a nicer cleaner one about..FACT. and would in buy another, of course.

When Lots of peeps throw there bike down the rd and not inform the insure co its irrelevant because that bike once repaired by owner will have a full retail value because the history is never known as no claim has been made, a cat reg bike has had a pay out in full so therefore its value now is less than half if not less, and you are correct a insure co will not no its history as its your responsibility to inform the insure co and not there's to no and failure to disclose this info well you may as well not bother with insurance .. Because  in the event of a accident they will cancel/void your policy and if you caused the incident or even kill someone than expect to be sued big time, if you disclosed everything and say the bike got wrote off than expect about £1500-£1800 max after all they don't pay out in full twice, dealers can't retail cat bikes on the shop floor as finance co don't touch em, and tbh I'd say you or anyone will struggle to insure that bike correctly by disclosing everything once you tell em its cat d and paint, forks, add ons alarm bells start ringing than they won't touch it.

I've brought various cat d vehicles from van, cars to machines last one a vw cost £30k new it had 5k on 11 plate less than 12 months old and i paid £12k all repaired by vw approved shop its reg as cat d, we also got a John copper special we paid £5k for repaired and i always insist on seeing pics of damage and i disclose everything to insure.

And £3500 would have brought you this

I would have Donkeys over that, far classier!

Done a bit of research, Insurance WILL know if your vehicle has past history, CAT D has absolutely no impact what so ever on policy cost or if you make a claim, so please do not try and scaremonger people with in correct information.

so try telling your insurance I've got a cat D and done a fancy paint job and adding a can and different this and blinged that and wait for the LOL.

So why doesnt the Insurance company ask if the vehicle has insurance history when giving details for a quote?

Yeah, the guy I bought it from told me, otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell, most bikes have suffered damage, its just down to whether the owner decides to make a claim.

Never go Full Retard.

My bike also has a CAT D, fell of its stand and suffered minor damage, insurance companies would rather write something off rather than going through the proccess of getting things repaired, its a shame that some people are that short sighted, I was more interested in the mechanical side of the bike, rather than the fact it had a new tank and fairing fitted, good luck with the sale, she looks awesome.

Never go Full Retard.
