Mirror blanking plates
« on: 25 May 2012, 12:11:27 am »
Anyone know where I can get a set of plates to blank off the holes left in the fairing if I switch from fairing to bar mounted mirrors?

I've trawled ebay etc & can only seem to find ones with R1/R6 logos on them, I guess these would fit the 1st gen?  but I'd much prefer either plain ones or ones with the tuning fork logo rather than something that obviously belongs on another bike!

Basically I'd like something like this, but I don't want to pay £45 for them nor wait a couple of weeks for them to ship from Australia! :

The fact that you can, doesn't always mean you should.

Hi all, thanks for the tips.  :thumbup

Thought at £8.75 delivered  I'd take a flyer on a set of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330655532156

They arrived today & will do the job, albeit they needed a bit of rubber cut to fit underneath.

I need to use the bike tomorrow so I've left them on as is at the moment, they're plain black paint & the 'R1' logo doesn't look to be etched into the metal, just masked into the paint so when I get some free time I'll strip & repaint them plain black.

I also did order some ally so I may whittle myself a proper set come the long winter nights sat in front of the fire....  :)

I've got a home made set but think they look a bit tatty, what's the dimensions of these and do they only have one bolt to hold them on or is one hidden behind the badge?
