Fazer thou might be on the cards....
« on: 14 April 2012, 09:26:41 pm »
As a young rider 1l bikes were out of the question, i'm 22 and held a full license for 11 months.

quoted £1,700 TPFT to insure a thou, soon as i get 2 years ncb and held a license for a year it drops to £400  :eek

May have to part with my trusty 600 fzs next month  :evil

The R1 was £118 so I'm thinking the Fazer will be less come renewal time.  :lol

Age has its advantage, I had a lowest price of 96 for the fazer 1000 this year with my many mods declaired. But went with 112 as I preferred the company.
I don't have a huge no claims as I kept lossing it when swapping to a trike. But haven made a claim in well over 20 years now. The odd thing is the IAM'S did not reduce my price with this company like it did with most others. But still was a good price.

I keep thinking of changing to a 600 to save on fuel and tyres etc but I would miss the 1000 so much I know I wouldn't be happy.

Its all cheap till you have a claim !...then you will c true figures....
I pay just over £200, FC, for my two bikes with a  combined value of around £10k, which is realistic I think.I had a claim last year on a company van...which stuck £35 on my bike quote ! Its all risk assessment I spose....

Yeah, after having an accident last year due to third party was shocked to see the bill the company would have had to fork out...

My bike was worth £1500
company provided with me a hire bike @ £85 per day for a month £2550
Compensation for injuries and damanged gear was £1800
Solictor 7 hours @ £200 per hour £1400

so thats £7250

off a £1500 bike  :eek

Makes me laugh as third party admitted liability there and then yet it taken a month to process adding an extra £2500

the system is there to milk the insurance comapny . But as we all pay for that  insurance its actually us who pay. Hence the repairers/ lawyers etc all just rub their hands together and rake it in.In the Uk we dont make anything , just exist by milking anything for a sov!
