Get well soon - I hit a deer and had an off last year, broke my collarbone and 5 ribs at the time. It was the three months of not riding which hurt the most. (May, June & July  :'( )

Well I have seen him tonight, looks ,sounds and feels a lot better,

He is sat up a bit in bed, he is going to be fitted with a brace,up his back and front, bolted together  :lolreally uncomfortable

The damaged bits in his spine seem to need holding in place until the area has settled, I don't think it is too bad as long as the bones don't move, pinch nerves..don't know how long that will be on.

Slim - on a serious note, it's not good news about Nicks back and certainly wouldn't fancy it myself...... so the question is, was he wearing a back protector ???? If he wasn't then do you think it may of helped him. Just thought I'd ask seen as there are a few new riders on the forum and a bit of "advice" would help.

Me - Big D30 back protector and all other armour D30.

Best of wishes to Nick.

Whilst the question is interesting in itself, remember Nick has had very big offs before. Can't remember if his last smashup involved back damage, but it's why his left (I think?) shoulder is weaker than his right one. With a weakened system, I would suggest he would be more susceptible to bits breaking to those who haven't seriously injured themselves in the past.

I think it would be a good idea for you to start a separate post all about what protection you wear.

Simple, straight and relevant question I thought. Not digging him out if he wasn't wearing one - his choice on what he wears. I know he has had previous offs and issues as a result. Like I said, maybe a heads up for newbies.

Sorry all, Fazersharp is right....been a bit of a dick, wasn't thinking and taken the thread away from the main issue - Nick.

Moderators, any chance you can lose the comments starting from mine @ Today at 09:35:13 PM ??
