« on: 04 March 2015, 08:17:35 pm »

Just one point from me

The more awkward or difficult or inconvenient it is for you as the owner to take your bike out for a spin = the more awkward or difficult or inconvenient it is for the .

When designing your bike storage dont be tempted to make it easy on yourself ie right out front facing the road with loads of manouvering space, have it out the back, needing a ramp and a 3 point turn & a tight squeeze and poor lighting.

you've just described my routine noggy almost exactly !!

If ( ok, lets be honest, WHEN )  i get the Tracer, im getting a ground anchor put down  before I pick the bike up, I wrap the Fazer up in a gurt chain and a disc lock and under 2 covers so the Tracer will be even more solidly secured !!
I fecking detest tea leafs and the snooker cue by the door WILL be used if I catch them at it the scum kants  ;)

I was there  about 2pm , black fazer , the silver fazer was still parked up when I went past , I gave him a nod , how did you get on with the Tracer .quote author=pilgo link=topic=6412.msg185794#msg185794 date=1425496387]
Went for a spin down through Cheddar gorge today , very sunny but still foccing  freezing , I road tested the new Gopro camera  , I was very impressed with the picture quality ,  I can't upload it though , file is to large , I will have to work out how to reduce the size of the file .
[/qsuote]

did you park up and sit in the sun about half way up the gorge, about 1 30'ish ? Silver fazer ?
if so I went past you on my test ride of the Tracer, id of foccer saluted you but I noticed you at the last minute and the silly bitch in the skoda in front of me  was really pissing me off !! And, yes, it was a tad chilly out there today

loved the Tracer, very easy to ride, great brakes, nice riding position, im 99 % certain im going to be getting one, I have a deposit down on the last black/grey one at Fowlers but me being me I still have this little voice in my ear saying 'dont do it'

I was worried about getting back on my ickle Fazer but I really enjoyed the ride home, I guess a new, non square rear tyre helps with that enjoyment !!
So if it wasnt you I wonder if its anyone else off here ?

new Avon Storm rear tyre fitted to replace the squared off one that was on there when I brought it and that got a split in it last sunday.
had a nice ride home the long way in the march sunshine to try to bed it in before my ride to Bristol tomorow for my test ride on the Tracer, bit worried that riding a new bike will show up the Fazers bad points !!

Went for my first gentle bimble since the bike show last november, felt great to be back out on 2 wheels again, needed to get a few miles under my belt again before I test ride the Tracer on wednesday.ive just measured the Fazer width and compared it to the Tracer, and im 4 inches to long !! It will be tight getting the Tracer through the 2 gates that I need to to get round the back to my flat, but its do able I think-i might need to relocate 1 of the gates but it'll be worth it
and then I found this on the rear tyre, its pretty squared off anyway so it needs replacing anyway but I was hoping on going up to Bristol on the bike on wednesday so I hope my local bike shop can source and fit a new tyre by tuesday

went to Fowlers in Bristol yesterday to view the Tracer,im seriously tempted to get one,my only concern is the width of the handlebars as its bloody tight enough getting the Fazer 600 round the back of my place to my flat through 2 gates. even if i had the gimmicky handgaurds removed it'll be tight  so might have to 'relocate' both sets of gates to make more room, which is a bit cheeky cos i rent but my landlord is pretty chilled so i dont see him worrying to much if i pay to re jig the gates a tad.

does anyone know the width of the standard bars on my 01 Fazer ?

I have sat one one (mt09) and just by sitting on it  seems lighter than my FZS 600. Isnt the mt 09 called a FZ 09 in the states and as it sounds like the perfect all rounder like our beloved fzs 600 shouldnt we have a section on the forum for it

think its a FJ 09 in the states ? bloody septics carnt help themselves from changing bloody names of things- football/soccer,boot/trunk, rugby/american football, rounders/baseball etc  ;)

and im in the process of organishing myself a test ride on the Tracer from Fowlers in brizzle.lack of time before march is reigning things in for me which is truly annoying as im keen to get my leg over the beastie  :b

where did you get the test ride from mate? Fowlers bike isnt even in store yet,let alone built and up for test riding  :wall

Venezuela eh!! a single mans paradise, I think the women out number the men about 4 to 1. That place brings back memories when I first went away to sea a happy 20 year old no ties no commitments.
A regular run for me for a few years, had a steady girl friend from the agents office. Talk about hot to trot, I nearly brought her home with me, drop dead gorgeous, happy days.

Hi Paul , no flash cars or motorbikes for me , an 8year old  Astra estate and a 13year old fazer . I learnt the hard way a long time ago , nowadays if I want something and can't afford it I save up for it . I only use the credit card for emergencies not luxuries  . Although  if everybody thought like that the banks would be in trouble as they make  money from  borrowers not savers.
Hi paul .....yep , I think the rise in interest rates is coming soon, I remember when I took out my first mortage I was offered a lot more than I needed, was buying a one bedroom flat for £40,000, had a £6000 deposit so only needed £34,000.....bit different back then. :rolleyes .......building society offered me something like £60,000, based on my earnings, I knew that was way over the top and would struggle with the repayments whilst having a good standard of living....banks are out to make as much money as possible with no thought to the well being of the customer, they are still going to rake in the interest whatever happens, and who pays thd bailiffs   ........ yep.another one for the customer.......end of the day, whatever you borrow you've got to pay back, dont live deyond your needs......

same here
S reg vw Golf Gti, 215,000 miles
and my beloved X reg fazer with only 17,000 miles

id love a brand new Gti but i dont need one, and even my chance to get the TRACER  debt free that ive been thinking about is bothering me,because i dont need the Tracer.
after many years of treading water  dealing with a world of debt left by the ex and her scum family ,im now free of it and im loving the freedom and peace of mind  that being debt free gives me so im in no rush to get back into that world !!

back on topic,i didnt actualy watch the video, but having been so close to having the ballifs knocking on the door, and the stress that came with that,i do feel sorry for genuine hard luck storys, but also seeing people take the piss with credit/repayments i know some people deserve what comes their way.

General / Re: Possible New Bike
« on: 14 January 2015, 05:48:28 pm »
im having a similar canundrum, new bike or keep my beloved Fazer....

ive been offered early voluntery retirement from work and im going to take it,after 33 years on the post,my old knee's are knackered,so im planning on taking 3 or 4 months off and get down the gym and get myself fitter and get my quads back in place, which will get my knee's sorted, all the while keeping my eyes open for a job (been offered a possible job that starts in mid april,so the gym thing might be a short thing !! )

so,my canundrum ( is that how you spell canundrum ? ) is,if and as long as,i get at least a part time job to cover my rent/bills then i can afford to buy the new MT 09 TRACER that has caught my eye outright, but having only been back on a bike for a year,im still enjoying the simple fun that i had last year on my Fazer, which i spent a few quid on and have a R6 shock due to be fitted soon  ( which i'll sell seperate to the bike if i go for the TRACER )

guess i'll just wait untill the TRACER arrives in the showrooms and have a test ride which might make my mind up

good luck with your decision BBB  :thumbup

British gets shortened to Brit... no one gives a shit. Pakistani gets shortened to Paki and all hell breaks out.  No one wants to hear racism but, things need to be put into proportion. People are always gonna draw a point towards whatever stands out about someone. If someone has a big nose and you call them a big nosed twat, it gets laughed off. if someone is black and you call them a black twat, you are a racist.  Calling a fat person a `fat bastard` is just as offensive to them as calling a black person a `black bastard`
but can anybody here honestly say they have never been `fattist` baldist` `religionist` `childist` `uglyist` etc?

Nigger isnt a word I ever use, but its kinda funny how everyone shouts racist when its used, unless you just happen to be a black rapper, then its used in every song going!!

The biggest problem I have with all this isnt the people it involves, its the `do gooders` who stir things up in the name of  racism. You can no longer call it a black board, thats racist..... no, fuck off, its a board, its black... its a black board!!!  No black person has ever been insulted by it being called a black board any more than any white person is offended by `whitewash`.

As I said earlier, no one wants to hear racism, but lets keep things in perspective.
