FZS600 Fazer / indicator out of its to replace....
« on: 27 July 2014, 09:35:19 pm »
ok,after the bike toppled over yesterday when it sunk into the hot tarmac off the main stand,my nearside indicator has popped out of its hole in the fairing and is obviously wobbling about....
having given it a quick shufty today,am i right in thinking that to replace it i need to undo that very soft looking philips head screw on the back of the indicator, seperate the back part, replace into its grove and re fit the back part to keep it in place?  advice please kind foccers !
also, does anyone know of any aftermarket brake/clutch levers for a 2001 boxeye?  was looking on the ASV website, and they dont seem to go that far back to my old girls era
cheers, pilgo  :thumbup

PICKED IT UP OFF THE FECKING FLOOR !!!!  :'( (yesterday)
got home from work, parked her up onto the main stand, went up into my flat, heard a horrible metalic 'clump'.thought it sounded strange,so went out to see what it was and found the old girl on her side-the bloody main stand had sunk on 1 side into the baking hot tarmac and got to a unstopable angle and over she went  :eek
absolute bitch to get up off the ground enough to put her onto the side stand, and of course it stunk of petrol and would'nt start again for ages.
snapped the toggled end off the clutch lever, scratched the engine covers and popped the indicator out of the hole in which it sits.
i normaly park the bike further back from where i had yesterday,id only put her there cos i planned to lube the chain. :rolleyes

Just got back from the Devon air ambulance trust rideout, from Tiverton to Teignmouth via 76 miles  of nice roads. Overall I did a little over 100 miles. I would guess between 800-1100 bikes attended the ride.

The overflow parking area just after I arrived

More overflow parking in a different area.

Guess what?

I ended up playing tag with this Z750

Had a chat after we parked up. He was a little surprised when I told him mine was a 600 not a 1000 fazer. Grins all round, this day.

me to !!
im parked just a bit further up the road from you, other side though.
what a great day out on the bike.did about 180 miles round trip from glastonbury to tiverton and back from teignmouth.  felt sorry for the kids trying to play cricket before we all left, great bacon rolls though.  8)

its with HEL,think its 10%,just mention the forum to them. i only got the single rear brake line,he was a bit reluctant to give me the discount but gave in eventualy,so id get all 3 lines at the same time if i was you (id put goodridge on the front, only changed the rear cos i put on the thou rear caliper upgrade)
hope this helps,im sure someone PC clever will be along to put a link up for ya  :pc
ps,the topic your looking for is on page 12 in here. and its 25% off,not 10%

Thats because Michael Jackson was never actually convicted of anything. ;)

several million $'s worth of hush money is as much a conviction as any, well, conviction  :evil
and nor was saville btw but its obvious he was a sick kant.

having just read the 'silicone hosing' thread, ive realised that the engine is the same lump on the boxeye as the foxeye (im new to this whole fazer owning thing,ok?!!),so im guessing the bellypan will fit a boxeye as well as your foxeye right?
if so,id be up for this,so first dibs please mate

220 mile round trip to my mums. Glastonbury to shepton mallett (past pilton and the Glastonbury festival site, lots of smelly, bewildered looking people stumbling around outside  :lol ),then the A361 towards frome/warminster,past longleat and over the tank ranges at chiterne, end up back end of stonehenge, then the boring but fast A303/M3 to Ascot via jacks at Bagshot (GREAT breakfast there)
got petrol for the trip home, bike would'nt start!!  :eek   been having problems with the bloody immobiliser for a while, but on this occasion it was totaly not playing ball. so called my breakdown people, but kept trying to start the bike, wiggling the wires from the immobiliser while pressing the starter button and she starts,so cancelled the breakdown peeps and had a great reverse trip home. couple of old bill motorcyclists parked up outside pilton at the festival site, just after id over taken some dithering cager but they just nodded because i was being a good boy  8)
soooooo, anyone know a good mobile auto electrician who's good with bikes in the somerset area?!!
ps,thats the longest trip ive done in the last 8/9 years, loved every minute of it,God its good to be back on a bike again  :)

got to say I've used my bike all this week between Portsmouth / Basingstoke via A3 & the traffic has been very kind @ moving aside for me making filtering easier and fun!
I'm off back down Cornwall later & was thinking of using main beam when I hit the M5 stretch but after reading this I'll give it a miss!
thanks for the advice again Foccers  :lol

good luck with that trip to kernow, the A303 is gridlocked from stonehenge to podimore roundabout (Glastonbury late comers) and the M5 is gridlocked from the M4 junction of the M5  to Taunton. and its pissing down with hailstones and having a massive series of thunderstorms coming through my part of somerset. hope you have a good ride home and you missed the worse of the weather/traffic
