Ebay would seem the logical place to start, failing that

Some pics of the engine when it was open, and you can see the damage on the old gear where the dogs jumped out and grinded the gear.
And even wallered out the holes, thats some wear...

The above items have been sitting, boxed up in my sitting room for over a year, so at this point I just need them parts gone  - so any reasonable offers welcome.

Why has no one bought this already..?

exactly that. So out of sight, out of mind.

Carrying the helmet in the backpack is for when Im OFF the bike, I recently got refused entry to a building for just trying to walk in while carrying it.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Ohlins YA-009 rear shock for fz1: fitment
« on: 11 May 2024, 06:55:08 pm »
So this was the only place I could fit the pre-load adjuster and even then it was a tight fight. routing the braided hose from the shock to the adjuster was also a pain, I had to route it under the ABS unit, between the unit and the protective plastic splash cover.

Can I ask if anyone else has fitted an ohlins to their FZ1 and do they have photos..?

Before I get on the phone to Infinitiy, Sportsbikeshop etc, I thought I would check on here and see if anyone suggest a backpack that you can fit a helmet inside..? Im guessing 30L or bigger. Budget is £100 and it would be handy if it has zippable side pockets.

My old Hien Gericke backpack was a 31L and I could just about fit a helmet inside.

List of couriers for shipping parts (and bikes) etc -

@Dave, the brackets are at the lowest point on the bike, where they will catch all the crap coming off the road. Thus they will corrode and fail.

MY only issue with bikeshops doing that is have to make sure they dont scratch/scuff the underside of the headers.

Thats one very clean bike, good luck with the sale :-)

@old son

What was wrong with the links for the used, but genuine lockset I gave you in the other thread...?

This hasn’t gone to plan. I was expecting delivery by 4th April. I checked FedEx website on 5th to see they claim they delivered the switch in 2nd. Clearly not the case both my wife and I were home all day. So I’ve paid £194 for the switch and £42 customs with nothing to show. I’ve contacted both supplier and FedEx but heard nothing back yet. Very frustrating.  :'(
Assuming you paid by credit card, file a visa chargeback on the seller with your bank. Make sure to email a copy of all corrispondance shwoing to tried to resolve it to your bank.

The phrase Sharp was possibly looking for is 'galvanic corrosion' where you have 2 dissimilar metals (Aluminium alloy of the cylinder head and the mild steels of the studs.

If the studs arent badly corroded, and the outer threads are serviceable, then as has been suggested leave them be. If however they are a rusty mess, take it to a professional for them to remove, do not try it yourself and if you can remove the engine as it makes access for that person a lot easier.

The ones in that ebay link all look like used OEM lock sets, so they shoudl just be a straight swap.
