I might see you there then one day mate :)

I have had 12 bikes in 10 years and apart from my first 125 I have got the other 11 from Sutton Motorcycles, top blokes. This is my latest, if you see me there say hello :D

Certainly will! I will be the one wobbling onto the carpark in the wrong gear coming to an abrupt stop with the indicator still going :)

if you are out for a ride in the day I always pop into Sutton Motorcycles in Tamworth. Nice friendly shop with tables outside to enjoy a drink and a burger or bacon sarnie from the nice burger van.

Call in at Sutton's quite regular now, had most my gear from them, good bunch of blokes. Had a few cuppa's from the van too, mostly on a Sunday around midday for me. Off to Sutton's tomorrow afternoon to get wheels balanced around 3pm then hopefully over to Rugby bikers pit stop meet in the evening.

Going to try and negotiate with "Wench" later, see if grandma wants an extended period of torment on Friday night so I can attend, having my tyres rebalanced on Friday afternoon and need an excuse to check them out :) If all goes to plan I will be blatting down the Ashby Road from Tamworth and then across A444 onto A5 around 6:30 / 7:00 pm.

Are we all not getting a little bit over excited about the simple act of removing your helmet? I like to take mine off for a breath of fresh air, if you have hair problems and getting it back in then perhaps it's time for a bit of a trim :) No.3 on top, No. 2  sides and back, taper neck please :P

Hmmm from this i read that bassetts pole is a bit of a posers  power ranger hang out. One off my list then. Might just go for a ride around the local areas tomorrow then. Seems a shame to miss the weather. Thanks for info and advice folks.

Scotoiler fitted to my bike when I got it, to be honest it's quite messy even when set on it's lowest setting, I am now considering draining it and just keeping my chain well cleaned and lubed, it's a fun bike not a commuter so have the time to keep things in order. Carry some muc off chain lube in my bag as a just in case.

General / Re: Mod 2 Test Tip - Gears
« on: 20 July 2012, 07:48:41 am »
Just to add, I knew I had my test around Burton-on-Trent and the time of day so I went over a few weeks before although I didn't know what route I would be taken on and drove the s**t out of the place driving as I would need to ride, probably looked daft doing lifesavers out of a Ford Kuga.

It worked though, managed to remember all the speed changes and island approaches which gave me more time to remember how to ride the bike correctly. Got through with 3 minors, hesitation when joining the A38 (no way I was pulling out infront of a big van!), missed a shoulder check to the right and a late indication (almost as I changed lanes) but overall felt good on the bike. Passed my test at 11am 13/6/2012, bike delivered 5pm 13/6/2012, wife was pleased (not!).

Its easy to say after the event but do try and relax, it will make you feel better and also just before you set off tell yourself  - "Just ride the f**king bike!"

Good luck with your next attempt, remember you only fail if you give up.

Speed is not the issue, it's the quality and standard of today's driving that's the problem.

Enforce with an iron fist the problems created by those who use mobile phones, a far greater threat than speed in my opinion. I drive a fair bit for my work and the amount of these morons, usually with BMW / Audi / Mercedes (hmm must be a German thing) that have a mobile stuck to their ear for miles on end drives me mental, I have a bloody van with factory fit bluetooth surely you can get one in a fekin high end motor!!!!!!!!!!!

Also stop people smoking when driving, drinking, eating etc etc. Too many variables inside the vehicle to deal with before chopping 10 mph of the local speeds. Due care and attention need improving first.

I recently went from CBT to DAS in a little over 2 months and got myself every book available regarding riding safely, having sat the theory test it's obvious something needs to be done. I would like to see a refresher driving test every 10 years max, a low cost version without a failure option, purely a revision and bad habit highlighting style test. You don't fail, you merely have to undergo further improvement training and also there should be a basic controls test whereby you have to be able to operate on a test rig a set of controls, steering, brakes etc with a certain amount of resistance determined by your age.

How many people (forgive me here) do see behind the wheel either to frail or two fat to operate the controls in an emergency situation. There should be a fitness test, might get some lard off those arses of some folk.

All in my humble opinion of course.

I'm looking for some new trousers, preferably RST as thats the gear i'm currently using and it will zip nicely together. Been looking at the Ventek, and Ventilator 3 trousers, I have the Ventilator 3 jacket which is nice but was hoping that someone may be using RST stuff and have some input before I buy.

Hi Phil, I'm a noob here too but still nice to say hello and be polite :)

Loving my 600, just need the weather and some good riding trousers which leads me nicely into my next post....................

Thanks for the tip Looney, the colour is Gold(said it in the head line!) and couldn't get a pic to load so that's why I said please text for pics! On another note I am posting to sell a fantastic bike not to make new friends or go for a pint, it's not a dating site! Or is it? Lol
Cheers, James.

And this place ain't called Bike"foc-u"Trader either!

Does anyone go to Bassetts Pole on a Tuesday evening (I think?) have heard that it's quite a big meeting place for bikers and wondered what your experiences / thoughts are on it. Also, any decent meeting places in the midlands / tamworth areas?

Basically bored and decided to take a few close up pics in the garage, room at a premium with all the kids toys around.

Please give critique, should get more practise really but enjoy it anyways.

Mmmmmmm, nice intro !!!!!!!!!!!!!! And you are ?

Glad you said what I was thinking.........
Not being funny about it or anything but I think it's poor manners to join a forum just to advertise a bike for sale. Each to their own though.
