Started my fazer 03 the other day put the lights on then i pressed the pass switch and both the engine oil warning light came on and the coolant level  :rolleyes

As a bolt was snapped, part of the shaft still remains with thread on however theres not enough room to squeeze a standard nut on there.

my question is can you get partly sunk nut that would fit through the header plate and bolt on for a temporary measure?

my Blue 2003 Fazer 600 15,000 miles partial service history.



Few extras like double bubble screen, new avon storm 2 tyres, rear hugger, exhaust.

Bad points are needs a new rear disc, and an exhaust header bolt has snapped.

I'll be changing the front sprocket and rear on my 2003 fazer very soon, bikes only done 14k miles i'm pretty sure its still the original.

Nut and threads look fine.

What do i need to look out for/any additional fits?

Are there any cheap shock upgrades? Its ample for solo riding however two up its terrible...

so  i drained some oil as pr the handbook and the oil is correct when the engines hot however its developed a high speed clicking noise at 3000rpm

wuldnt say second to third was a big slam, but at high revs it feels a lot more rough than forth fith or sixth

When I serviced my bike I topped the oil up and started the engine for a few minutes and then the oil level was sat perfect. I noticed once the bikes been running for half an hour the window completely fills and stays full for a while, I've ran the bike for a few weeks with no problems.

Shud I drain some oil or just leave it?

i have now ran 2500 miles with it like this lol  :eek as in the morning after a run it always settled to the correct level.

I'm using Castrol power 1

Gearbox seems to be clunkey going into first a into second. not long since changed the oil t power one 10w40 also seems to feel rough at 6k rpm :D

after spraying them for a week one seemed to snap off at the bolt still  :o will i be ok leaving it? i cant feel any leaks as such

Just ordered some NGK Iridiums of ebay (CR9EIX) NGKS guide say the CR8EIX is the one for my bike however i've been searching google and alot of companies advertise the CR9EIX for the FZS has anyone used the CR9EIX and will it be ok even though NGK suggest CR8EIX?

I'm Jake im 21 years old from Teesside. Passed my test earlier this year, my Fazer 03 (in blue) is my second big bike due to the first being written off by a woman who doesnt know how to go around a aroundabout  :)
