road dirt on visor
« on: 13 December 2011, 10:42:41 pm »
Hi, I have a problem with a lot of road dirt on my visor to the extent I have to clean it every few mins.  This is on wet roads but no rain to help keep visor clean.  I'm riding an FZ1.  No one else in the group I'm riding with has this problem.  I'm only 5' 5'' so maybe it's a height to screen ratio - thing.  Anyone else have this prob with an FZ1 or any ideas ?   :\

Try leading the group, let them have your road-spray for a change. :lol

I have a Yamaha Touring screen on my FZ1 and I'm 5'8". If I dip my head slightly  it clears the visor. No however much use in this weather with the road crud so I have a small sponge stuck to my top yoke which I use to clean the visor on the move.
Not found a screen yet, for the FZ1, that with give you full protection.

I have tried sitting bolt upright and crouching down, to no avail.  if everyone i was with had the same prob i could understand but my vision gets really dangerous yet my mates don't seem to have a prob at all.  it's driving me nuts !

Plenty dirt on the inside, that don't bother me.  Standard screen.

Hi m8,
prolly find you`re following too close and on the same line as the rest of em.....Try moving to one side a bit...be less buffeting as well.

Agree with Erix, stay further back from the bike in front, I'm the same height and it didn't take much of a position change to cure the same problem.
