1250 Bandit was pretty nasty, tested an FZ6 when they first came out, totally useless bike, never been so glad to get back on the FZS. Had an ER5 courtesy bike once, that was horrible too.

General / Re: Wireless Brake light« on: 27 August 2013, 01:05:52 pm »
Got a 1960's copy of motorcycle mechanics with plans for a diy brake light switch, a test tube with 2 wires pushed through a bung and a blob of mercury in the tube which rolls forward when you brake and completes the circuit.

Jetwashed all my bikes for years, never had a problem, I'll buy car wash shampoo if I can be bothered but have used washing up liquid, never caused any problems, I'm sure there's more salt on the road than in a squirt of Fairy, just remember, rinse rinse rinse.

General / Re: which helmets are you guys using?« on: 28 June 2013, 12:40:42 am »
Only buy a Caberg if you are stone deaf. Had a Schuberth S1 Pro, very heavy and gave me the worst helmet hair ever, no better than the XR1000 I had before. Got a Roof Boxer V8 now, love it exept when it's pishing down, not the best visor seal, use the Multitec in the rain.

Well that's the first time I've agreed with Oldgit
I for one will mourn her loss, a great leader and a great Briton, a prime minister that restored pride and power to this country after years of ruination from that commie bastard Wilson. Beat the unions, beat Galtieri, brought down on Europe but proved right in the end, that's plain to see. The mines and manufacturing were already doomed before she came to power, who honestly thinks the mines would still be operating now? Rest in peace Iron Lady, wish you could save the country again. 46
General / Re: Triumph sprint« on: 18 March 2013, 02:38:06 pm »
Just to clarify, it wasn't a quick test drive, I owned a Sprint 1050ST for nearly 2 years and over 14000 miles, at the time I was a shift worker and this was my daily transport so a decent headlight was essential. It put out a very narrow beam of light, what made it worse was the fork dive under braking and then over extending under acceleration so the light was pointing everywhere except where I wanted it. I tried an '08 some time later, much higher bars that I wasn't keen on, didn't ride it at night so can't comment. Other points, the underseat exhaust was hard to keep clean (gave up) the Triumph hard luggage was a sick joke (the warranty replacements were not much better) the chain adjusters seize up if you don't keep an eye on them and if you take the seat off, its a TWAT to get back on
Don't get me wrong, the positives outweigh the negatives, the engine is just right for brisk road riding and they really do handle. 47

Didn't think the tackling was that bad, certainly compared to rugby league anyway. Have to say the look on Mike Brown's face when Cuthbert scored the first try was priceless, moment of the tournament

Headlights are shit, brakes feel horrible but work good. Cracking motor and they handle well.
