widening standard bars a tad..
« on: 13 November 2012, 12:23:10 am »
hadta fit my old oxford heated grips and repair a bodge so thought id widen the bars a tad whilst i was at it to seeme through until i decide whether to fit 758s or not.
bodge was a previous owner had snapped off the locating lug in the throttle, and used emery tape clamped in to stop it twisting, though this was moving. so first job was to drill out switch body, turn down a delrin plug, drill switch body, glue in plug, then drill out centre and insert other end of drill and cut off inside to make belt and braces repair.

old mounting hole covered by front brake/clutch lever, end bars screwed in with high strength thread lock to allow for less retaining threads, heated grips fitted.
i had these grips on a zzr11 years back, kept em when i flogged the bike as they were so good, switch is the pig ugly old school version but its reliable so i'll stick with it.

Nice work  :)  Can you make anymore of those bar end weights? I for one would be interesting in buying some.  ;)

Nice work, mate, and a really good write-up. :)

I owe you a dit on suspension improvements, don't I?  Raining here most of this week so I'll get on with it one afternoon.

Cheers!
