I look upon ebay as a marketing window. The price shown does not reflect the value I place on the bike or indeed what I would be willing to accept for it  8)

Greater visibility to the bike buying public an all that !

I'd rather have that minty late fazer thou than the mt mate, but that's just my humble opine  :) Especially given the trade in...they are always piss poor and fairly insulting, but what they offered you is appalling, no wonder they wouldn't say it to your face.
If you gotta wait til January anyhoo, why not hold off til spring bud? You are far more likely to sell it privately then, and the mt won't be the latest newest bestest etc so they will accept less than they will now for cash. It's gotta be worth holding out til then. My advice in no way reflects the fact that by spring I'm hoping I will have recovered financially enough to buy your bike btw....

That made me smile ogri  :) .

Someone local has just made an offer which I turned down as I thought along the same lines of sticking it in the garage until next year when the prices rise again, it's an option as I've the cash to pay for the MT in Jan and hang onto the 1000.

Test ride the MT and you'll see why I'm swapping.

Makes sense mate.
It kills me that I have just this second splashed out 1600 sovs to take the missus to Egypt Thursday. I don't even get to take me bike  :eek I would much, much rather have put some to it and got your bike. But she is just about the best thing that's ever happened to me and has put up with so much this year it's gotta be done. That is one lovely gen one though, if you do hang on to it I would seriously be interested when I'm flush again. I did take her to France and Spain for a holiday in the summer on the bike, but we came back more knackered than when we went lol. At least you know not to spend any more like on the ivans now, though I will deffo book mike in for it if I got it. I've still got a nice micron and link pipe for a gen 1 if you wanna borrow it for the rest of the time you got it just to spice it up a bit, all it will cost you is the post
