Who has an Ivans kit fitted and be willing to let me try it ?
« on: 08 October 2013, 08:11:22 pm »
The more I read about these the more I say to myself "how much better can it be ?"  I thought my own bike was pretty smooth and rolls on and off the throttle lovely. What I don't like is the splutter/stutter and blip of starting the bike with a bit of choke all the time. The kit stops all that.

I'm in Nottinghamshire NG17 so if someone close is willing to let me have a bimble before splashing the cash, I would be most grateful. Weekdays, weekend whatever as long as it's dry. No point testing in the wet !

Cheers.

Ahem, yes, Ivanising well worth doing, no more glitches or stutters, no more slipping the clutch from a standstill, rapid! And as you say, don't need choke to start, but as others have said, might still do come winter temperatures. In my case, no longer having to choose carefully what gear I'm in, in traffic, just smooth everywhere. It's commonly said, and I agree, it's what the gen 1 should really have been from the start. And go full monty if you're going to do it - it doesn't make it a complete animal, nothing daunting like that, easier to use than standard still, but does need a decent can to work best.
You ever heard anyone who's had it done say it's not worth it?  ;)

You want some mint sauce with that CRH.........?? :lol

Yet again completely off topic and possibly un-appropriate.

The OP, marcusfordus, has asked a serious question and must be delighted when he keeps seeing these helpful replies.

Come on guys take the playground stuff to a more suitable thread :)

No arse ragging involved  :)

I wanted to see how it rolls on and off the throttle and picks up in the higher gears without having to change down one or two.

Believe all the hype, it is worth every penny, and if you get Mike to do it, all will be supplied and fitted by the most experienced guy in the UK (well twice a year!).

One of the top 3 mods you can do to a fazer. For the first few months you'll be looking for 7th gear as the bike responds so much better in top.

Mine is Ivanised and although it did improve the general feel of the bike I found the 4 degree ignition advancer completed it for better midrange grunt. you sacrifice a little on the top end but I very rarely rev mine to the redline
It also starts much better than before and is said to improve fuel consumption a little. I Have noticed a very slight improvement in fuel consumption but it is minimal the way I ride.

for £14 and the price of the gasket its a cheap and easy thing to do. and worst case if you don't like it convert back to the standard one and sell the 4 degree one on here.

Lord,
