General / SJ4000 Action Cam Test
« on: 25 July 2014, 02:22:07 pm »
Hi all! Was recently looking for an action cam but didn't fancy splashing out £250 on a GoPro when the current has been discontinued and the new one isn't being released for a few months.

In my search for a cheap one to get me by, I came across the SJ4000 on Amazon (available on eBay and other China sites) and for £75, I thought why not....

What a fantastic bit of kit! Comes with every mount you can think of, all the GoPro mounts work with it too and in all honesty I was blown away by the quality.

Youtube unfortunately sucks all the life out of it with it's hideous compression but the raw footage is awesome

For the price, I'd definitely recommend it  :)

FZS600 Fazer / Flat Spot
« on: 27 April 2014, 01:01:42 pm »
Hi all! After taking the head off and replacing the downpipes for stainless, and replacing the carb rubbers, I now seem to have a 'flat spot' around 6k. When hitting 6k with the throttle open fully it seems to bog down and refuse to get through the 6/7k mark (seems fine in 1st, 2nd, 3rd though) yet when using about 3/4 throttle it goes past no issue.

Any ideas?

FZS600 Fazer / timing
« on: 23 April 2014, 02:27:29 pm »
Hi guys. Currently putting the head back on the fazer, cams lined up perfect, tensioner in, 2 full turns and then both cams are 5-10 degrees out. Done this 3 times now and getting annoyed.

Any ideas??

General / Kaiser Baas X80 - Test
« on: 11 March 2014, 10:09:29 pm »
Hi all, we had some of the Kaiser Baas X80 Action Cam's in at work today, so thought it'd be rude not to give one a quick bash. Excuse the noise at high revs, the mount was vibrating on the rear fairing. Mounted to the rear grab handle, testing mostly for video quality for a 'maybe' future purchase :)

Also, cocked up my gears at about 3.30, ended up pulling a slight wheelie on the off.

FZS600 Fazer / White flakes?
« on: 10 March 2014, 01:55:10 pm »
On the front of the engine block, what can only be described as 'white powery flakes' have started appearing. These just wipe off with a rag, but is annoying.  Any idea what it could be?

My initial thought was a pinhole leak in the back of the rad and the coolant drying on the block??

FZS600 Fazer / Coolant pipes/unions
« on: 01 March 2014, 08:07:13 pm »
Hi all! After a long/spirited ride on the fazer, I get an occasional coolant leak from when the pipe meets the block. I wouldn't say its a bad leak, and has only done it a handful of times, but I want to replace it to be on the safe side. The part I'm replacing is this:

Now, my question is where the pipe goes in the head, does there need to be an O ring?

« on: 21 February 2014, 09:27:37 am »

For Sale & Wanted / Carb Rubbers
« on: 20 February 2014, 01:10:30 pm »
Before I got my bike the carb rubbers must have been heavily deteriorated and the previous owner has covered them in.... something.

Basically I want to replace them with some fresher ones. Any one got a decent set of used or new knocking around?

My left seal has developed a slight leak, not much at all but now i know it's there I want to sort it.

Any magical fixes, or anyone fancy 'helping' replace the seals and oil :)

(I use the term 'helping' loosely. I'm useless, you'll be mainly doing)

Thanks in advance chaps

For Sale & Wanted / FZS 600 Wing Rack
« on: 17 October 2013, 08:43:00 pm »
Hi All, decided to sell my Kappa Wing Rack as i can't see me using it to it's full potential. The rack is in a good condition, it comes with now bolts to secure it to the bike but as far as i'm aware you can just use the same bolts that hold your grab rail on and also a couple of small nuts to secure to the rear footpegs. There are a couple bolts missing, the ones that hold the indicators (which I don't have) and the ones which secure the plate (I've never had either, but used some standard nuts and bolts). There are also some plastic blanks missing, but i have a new set of blanks ready to go on. I'm looking for £100 and collection only, I'm based near Birmingham but can meet local :)

I also have a Givi V46 topbox, which if i'm honest has seen better days. A couple of mount holes and a crack on the outer plastic on the top (about 4 inches) and is quite scratched but is still watertight and does the job and comes with 2 keys. Say £50 :)

FZS600 Fazer / Whats this noise?
« on: 15 October 2013, 12:14:59 pm »
Hey All! So as some of you know, i'm still new to all this biking malarky. Noticed a noise after i'd turned the bike off today, what is it?
