Imagine going into a hedge :eek

Imagine his bike going on fire! :'(

What a dunce!!!

No wonder he's now a thou owner & putting the hex on the blue thous.

I wonder what car he drives, maybe a Subaru, they like off road. ;)

Greetings foccers, roll up, roll up............xmas is coming :'(

Bag yourself or the kids this bargain RC car with the latest brushless technology which means an electric battery car that does 40mph :eek .

This was an unwanted gift to my niece last xmas, too advanced for her & my dad couldnt be focced figuring it out, ba humbug!!! :(

Brand new in the box, hasnt been taken out of the box.

As sold by Nitrotek right now at £124.99 on their website.

My price to foccers only............£60.00.    Plus £10.00 P&P........no offers please unless they are higher offers ;)

So £70 for a car that will kick the arse outta any toys r us production at £100.

Obviously as it is now a year old it will be out of manufacturers warranty but i think the saving warrants the risk & as i mentioned previously i havent had it out of the box to try it, as received from nitrotek this time last year.if nobody here wants it ill be chucking it on ebay.

Cheers

Here's a wee pic :)

& some shpeel about it...................................

There is only one way to best describe this brushless radio controlled car and that is extreme speed. The Pioneer will run at over 40mph out of the box! This is all thanks to the brushless motor and high power 11.1v Li-Polymer battery pack. The special motor in this brushless radio controlled car is much quicker than the motors found in other models. Because it is brushless it also means the motor needs no maintenance and can handle a lot more power being pumped into it. So to take full advantage of that the standard 7.2v Ni-Cd batteries that are found in most rc car kits has been replaced with a very powerful 11.1v lithium battery along with a balanced lithium battery charger which is needed for these special batteries.

With this massive amount of power it is important that the model can handle the speed and pressure that is produced so many of the parts have been made stronger like you would find in a nitro rc car. An aluminium chassis, high torque servo, aluminium drive shaft and extra thick oil filled shocks, along with a mixture of metal and plastics mean it has a better chance of surviving a high speed impact, although is not indestructible.

The model comes fully built with everything you need to get racing apart from eight normal AA batteries for the radio handset. We have not been this excited about a new model for a long time and you will know why when you hit the throttle for the first time and see it pop a little wheelie before taking off at such a crazy speed. Highly recommended.

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / 600 to 1000.....why should i do it?
« on: 15 November 2013, 08:34:22 pm »
I'm getting the itch & after next season i reckon ill be changing to something just a little more exotic.

I really like the Aprillia Tuono Fighter......& the gen 1 thou & obviously the Gen 1 is the natural progression.....& they are seriously cheap to buy..i dont do touring or 2 up but usually at least 60 mile runs with regular 200 mile jonts.................BUTTTTTT........will it be a big enough change to make the move exciting????..i know a few of yous guys already have both 600 & 1000  :faz s or have changed up to the Thou so whats the goss???...things on my mind are as follows:-

-An Aprillia might be nice, but it wont come with the full support team that the Fazer offers, foc-u is worth allot of consideration & a great place, would i want to be a lurker with another bike??

-If i wont be touring, if i like scratching & summer rideouts...is it a waste to get the Thou?

-The thou was seriously overpriced when new, but did this equal much greater quality of bits compared to the 600 or are they level par on build quality.?

-Do they suffer less problems with the carbs?, i dont seem to see much on here regards carb issues?

-soeed wise, the gen 1 has more grunt & there is less gearbox dancing required, how are the gearboxes?, dont believe they have any weak points like the 600 with the 2nd gear jumping etc.

-Gen 1 looks a bigger bike, obviously to hold the bigger engine, im quite chunky & tall so would ideally like a slightly bigger bike...but is the riding position any less cramped than the 600?

-is there any more ground clearance?, i mean i know it isnt a sports focused bike but with the little wider rear tyre does it corner qny further over?

-has anyone actually preferred the 600, come on be honest :D

My plan would be to save about 3k, lots of good ones around this price, i would want a low miler bit at the same time i think its important to wait til i see one on here that has had all the major mods done as ive spent serious dosh just upgrading little bits n bobs on the 600, the one thing i would probably want to shell out big for is an Ohlins rear shock.

A bit long winded as usual, not expecting individual answers to each but generally you guys experiences on the subject would be good.

Cheers!...im all ears!!!! :)

General / Battlefield 3 xbox 360.
« on: 30 October 2013, 03:07:07 pm »
Winter time so ive blown the dust off my xbox & signed up to xbox live for a few months.

Anyone else play battlefield 3 online?, if so what is your gamertag thing? maybe theres enough for a foc-u squad or team...

I foccin love this game jus for letting off steam, im total crap but it doesnt matter coz ill never be as good as the 10 year olds or the chinese guys that never leave their rooms for years but hey ho its all good fun.

My biggest mistake is panicking & going full auto, using about 50 rounds & hitting nothing like that guy in Predator with the mini gun & then getting shot when i run outta ammo :lol ..plus i got kicked off yesterday coz i spawned on top of a crane next to a sniper but i had a machine gun, so i decided to put down some suppresive fire for him...2 minutes later "youve been killed by admin"......foccers!!!!!

FZS600 Fazer / Finally replaced my Brake Pedal& adjusted it.
« on: 03 September 2013, 04:10:12 pm »
Well ive been meaning to adjust my brake pedal for ages as it was too high up so i was riding with my foot out all the time & it was scuffing on the road.after my crash i bent the pedal so i got another one off ebay for £8.

What a foccin nightmare, the peg allen bolt did not want to move, eventually using my good knee as a lever, & a few beers for extra strength i managed to slowly edge it out.foccin thing was in with blue thread lock :( .

So i pissed about for ages adjusting everything, forgot where the springs went to,eventually sorted them out, bolted everything back on & oh foc in my rage with the big bolt i'd snapped the wires off for the brake light sensor :'( , the small clips for the wire were trashed so i got some gold clips off one of my old indicators & bodged it back on but could i foc manage to feed them through the little rubber cap,it was fiddly enough without it adding to the drama, so thegood old insulation tape is on it instead.

Anyway i thought it would be a quick job which it wasnt but hey im one step closer to getting my bike back on the road plus my lever is now comfortably nice & low, i never use my back brake much anyway. 8)

FZS600 Fazer / Oil from crankcase smells a bit petrol'y!
« on: 28 August 2013, 07:28:37 pm »
Well im certainly racking up the posts after my recent crash, here is my latest query to the fazer help desk:-

Was gonna take off the crankcase cover to sand it down.anyway it wasnt budging & before i got physical a drip of oil came out, so naturally i sniffed it & it had quite a whiff of petrol to it.i mean it defo doesnt smell like the fresh oil anyway but is this normal after being run through a bike for a while?

My question is, when i crashed could fuel have somehow mixed with the oil & if so i take it an oil change is in order???, i put a k&n oil filter on it at the start of summer, should i change it also???

When i crashed, by the time i got up & went to the bike it wasnt running so must have cut out pretty quickly.

I have started the bike up since on the driveway & it started & ran just fine.

Thanks

FZS600 Fazer / Removing the throttle.
« on: 27 August 2013, 09:40:12 pm »
Anyone know how to remove the throttle twist grip???

I'll soon be getting some Renthal ultra low bars & I've been perusing the Haynes manual to get an idea how to get all the stuff off.But there's no mention of removing the throttle anywhere.

A search of the old forum finds Kebab explaining to someone about some lugs on the throttle or switch gear that need to  be filed down so that everything fits on the new bars so i reckon these lugs probably make it difficult to remove all the stuff from the old handlebars.& are the throttles generally well stuck on???

Stevie has been giving me some advice about the Renthals as he had them before, hey Stevie if you read this, have you any more wisdom on the subject?, i felt cheeky mythering you directly, or anyone else recently Renthalised???

FZS600 Fazer / Steering handlebar stops?
« on: 26 August 2013, 03:57:23 pm »
Having a check of my bike & it appears that when i binned it that the bar end caused the dent in my tank & since a left turn on the steering full lock stops short of the tank i can only presume that i've knackered the stop on the right side.

But ive no idea what it looks like, or how easy it is to fix.

Actually do i even need it?, will it fail its next mot for fouling on the tank?

FZS600 Fazer / Another one bites the dust!
« on: 20 August 2013, 11:56:27 pm »
I've got a suggestion for the forum-the i've just binned another fazer section...poor fazers!..do they really deserve such abuse?.....no...but like many recent foccers ive decided to try out the whole crashing thing :rolleyes ,except i broke pretty much most of the rules i usually stick to.. & learned the hard way! :'(

The bikes been in the garage for 2 weeks supposedly getting the swingarm bearings done, bit of a wait & i finally picked it up today after it sat outside for days because they couldnt be bothered phoning me.

Totally focced after 4 hours kip from nightshift my mate says he'll take me to the garage & he's outside waiting so I quickly grab my helmet, gloves & jacket.

I get the bike & im almost all of the 3  miles home when i decide that the brakes are a bit dodgy & guess its prob due to being sat at the garage, anyway they still arent warmed up so i stupidly ride straight passed my house & continue through the village to give the bike more of a run & test things out.

I get stuck behind a woman in a 4x4 honda crv who keeps slamming on the brakes for everything but im trying to be relaxed & find my feet so I choose to stay behind her.im not far enough behind her though.

She slams on because a car is parked outside the post office, even though the road is clear on the other side....i stall..what a twat i am!..i get it started again but soon catch her up,its now a 40 mph limit going outta the village.her driving is still a bit up & down so i decide that i need to get passed her asap,we come to a corner that i know is followed by a straight, both go around it,theres no oncoming traffic....but theres a guy on a push bike on the left, tight in, no problem.i expect the 4x4 to just go passed him..we both pick up speed...then bam she slams on the brakes again, i make the stupid split second decision to pass them both, i go well wide & im almost in line with the car & it swerves out,not only a enough to pass the bike but taking up the whole opposite lane.

So im then looking at crv boot with nowhere to go, i roll off quickly, not good enough, pull the front brake, not good enough...pull it a bit more, front locks up,down i go at a mere 40 mph, scrape along the floor & end up in the ditch.

Im ok, broken pinkie finger,my knee is badly graised, broken toe & im generally in pain& stiff i cant blame the driver because i broke my own rules & thats the end of it regardless of how much of a complete fanny she was.at the end of the day im the bigger fanny & ive learnt the hard way but come off pretty lightly.my bikes pretty focced in my eyes anyway.its in some old guys garden & to be fair it's pretty salvageable from what i remember but ill checkit out tomorrow & come up with a plan.

Early doors but i think ill either buy a cheap fully running fazer & use mine as spares as im sure its gonna cost more trying to get it back on the road in comparison or ill save up for a gen 1 thou.my confidence hasn't been dented & im not traumatised, im just pissed off & getting back on it will cheer me the foc up!

Another foccer down...but not for long!

FZS600 Fazer / Brake pedal adjustment.
« on: 11 August 2013, 10:07:18 pm »

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to adjust the brake pedal down a bit,
i did my clutch easy enough but because my bikes in the garage i can't entirely see what type of mechanism the brake has
is it a 2 minute job?
I have to hold my foot off to the side of the peg & it scrapes on the road and putting my toes on the peg away from the lever doesnt feel natural.

cheers

FZS600 Fazer / Bike failed its MOT!
« on: 06 August 2013, 11:09:58 am »
Oh well it is a old bike so it's not bad considering.

Failed on lights, they're apparently a foreign unit pointing the wrong way :\ , so does that suggest my bikes been crashed in its history & had a new headlight unit stuck in bought off ebay & ending up being a foreign one???, never failed on it before but anyway the tester says he can get round it on re test by sticking some tape on to deflect the beam properly.

Also failed on 2 bushes in the swing arm where the dog bones bolt in to-not sure how expensive they are to replace or how many there are in total but i'd like to replace them all if not too costly.

Trouble is ive searched an old post here & the consensus was that this play was common & replacing all the bushes makes no difference, her's the link http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?topic=336.0

Well a combination of ratcheting down tightly with handlebar straps & about 500 pot holes later & ive gone & snapped the little fairing bracket off where it joins the frame :o .

Just checking what options i have, should i get someone to weld it back together or is there any alternative way of attaching it on?.

FZS600 Fazer / Cleaned my chain & sprocket
« on: 26 June 2013, 04:33:13 pm »
Gave the bike a good clean yesterday, but whats a clean bike on the outside if other parts are filthy.

Decided to clean the chain & inside the sprocket cover & now got it to a respectable standard. :)

I couldnt get all the grit out & particularly hard to get at was the plastic chain runner which had loads of grit along itbut i guess that'll need to wait til i get a new chain & sprocket.

Sorry pics are tilted to the left,it never puts them upright when i use my ipad  camera vertically.

FZS600 Fazer / Lubing Up!!!!!!!
« on: 23 June 2013, 08:55:37 pm »
My missus says i need to use more lube............on my fazer of course! ;)
I've learned lots about the bike but i've neglected the bits and pieces :o & my plan is to give it a good old wash down and then clean the chain, get the sprocket cover off and clean out the gunk and then try to lube up every possible part.
Ive got plenty WD40 and copious ammounts of 3 in 1 oil with PTFE (not for the chain may i add ill use proper chain lube) to use up on something so the plan was to use the wd and a toothbrush to clean out all old gunky bits and then spray 3 in 1 on every hinge, moving part, nuts and bolts and the likes.
appreciate this may not be the best ever way but my feeling is that it is better than doing nothing & using up what i've got.
can anyone offer any advice on the matter, is it just a case of spray and clean whatever i can get my hands to or is there any particular parts that need special attention or specialist substances of much high value???
cheers. Nog!

FZS600 Fazer / FZS600 VS Modern Machines
« on: 30 May 2013, 08:59:03 pm »
Not a standard FZS600 but one thats had a little bit o money thrown at suspension.Brakes in my opinion are fine & the engine more than capable & quick as is.

Not counting ABS

How does it compare with modern machines????,anyone come back to the FZS from a supposedly more exotic machine????

How much are we talking for the best suspension on offer or the next best thing at a reasonable price & how long will this stuff last ie - if the fazer did see an end then could you re coup a good chunk of the money through resale if it was ohlins???,standard shocks are supposedly done in after 10k so how long does the good stuff last?

Is this crap any good for chains, of the motorbike variety?

Spoke to my dad & he says its a pile o shite, dont put it on yur chain, you'll foc yur chain bla bla bla,he hasnt actually seen it though.

To be honest when he went into dad mode i switched off a bit but I suspect he may be right.

But i like to give things a chance & it could be the shizny
