For Sale & Wanted / 2001 FZS600 Fazer for sale
« on: 25 April 2017, 09:37:12 am »
I am selling my Fazer 600 due to getting a new bike. I have owned this bike about three years with no issues and has proved reliable. I have serviced the bike annually through a local garage (last service Feb this year) and had new tyres fitted about 600 miles ago (Michelin PR3). Also fitted a new chain and sprockets about 1000 miles ago with upgraded nut.. New battery about a year ago. Other upgrades include Oxford heated grips, engine crash bungs and upgraded HID headlights. I have always kept this bike in garage and on a battery charger when not in use.

The bike is in good clean condition with usual flakey paint to engine case.
MOT due end of Feb 2018
13348 miles but will go up as i use the bike regularly.
Collection / viewing Aylesbury Buckinghamshire
£1275

Are you sure the stalk is knackered and not just pushed in to the fairing.  It's held by a rubber grommet

you are right...it has pushed through, the only problem is that the screw that secures the indicator plate is rounded off. I will end up having to grind the screw down.

My current lense is okay, just the stalk that is knackered. Only decent ones on eBay appear to be left side.
So if my lense is okay i can get a left side and put my good right side lense on?

it is the front...when i turn the wheel on the centre stand i can hear it catching. I don't think it is the brakes as the discs are not even warm. The bike was fine before.

FZS600 Fazer / New front tyre and rubbing sound?
« on: 16 March 2017, 12:00:22 pm »
I just had a new set of tyres fitted to my 01 FZS600 Fazer and i can hear a rubbing from the front? Sounds like the mudguard is rubbing but cannot see any contact upon inspection. These tyres are listed as the correct size so unsure of what could be rubbing. Anyone had similar issues?
Going to swing by the mechanic that installed the tyres and see if they can help.

Tyres are 110/70/17 and 160/60/17 Michelin PR3.

Tried Roadsmarts but had problems with losing pressure despite changing valves, perhaps I just had a bad pair......but replaced them with Pirelli angel GTs no problems with good grip and neutral 'drop in' on turning and plenty grip also good 2 up in my experience if that helps...

I did't think you could get Pirelli angel GT in a 110/70/17?

I need a pair of new tyres, i am going with Michelin PR3 and need a good supplier. Where is best to get them? online or garage/shop?

How much should i be paying to replace/fit on my FZS600

I need to replace the chain and sprockets on my FZS600 as the current ones are worn. Any recommendations on which kit to buy? I want something reliable and long lasting and decent quality.

Mixed opinions on wiring direct to battery then. Those wiring via a switched live are you finding this via the fuse box under the seat?

FZS600 Fazer / What heated grips?
« on: 30 March 2016, 05:19:01 pm »
i know the weather is getting better but for those cold mornings I want to fit some heated grips to my 2001 FZS600.

I have looked at the Oxford heated premium hot grips - touring which get good reviews. Will these fit my bike and how easy are the to fit and wire in?

I have converted both headlights (with mod) to HID for the better light power but my MOT is due shortly. Will this fail with these lights fitted?

« on: 11 November 2015, 12:22:51 pm »
Like most on here i am getting sick of my crappy headlights, I have done the mod so that both come on but still pretty poor on unlit B roads. I have found this HID kit on the bay and was wondering if others had given it a go?

Are these kits easy to install and reverse back to original lights?
