if your getting a new chain might aswell pay an extra £7.45 for the 12mm sprocket nut
- just doing my chain and guess what it was the original 9mm job and the threads were nearly gone - in fact they were when i tightened it up to hold in place while i move shit around
- you might already have the new one on but mine has 90k on the clock and still the original nut so its previous owners have been lucky

if you use the bike a lot like me just wire brush what you can get to on the frame and wait for a engine out catastrophy before you repaint the engine
-ive used hammerite smooth on the frame and on a few of the scratched casings that are a bit cooler then engine block
- she can wait till the full rebuild for her makeover

i found one 35 quid - if you have one you will need it - its the bit that sits between carb 2+3  for the fuel inlet
- i saw fowlers but thought back order could take ages
- my other bike didnt sell on ebay so thankfully i still have a backup bike for a few months

hoped prayed and carried on as i had to get to preston
suddenly only running on 3 cylinders - carry on and pray
on way back sudden bad noise pull over loose chain - strange
load of tools purchased later i am pointed out the link had broken and not a split link either a rivet link
no correct replacement and no recovery (thought i did) so i used the incorrect split link with no side plate only a clip to hold it (never do this)
27 miles later bad noise chain flings link and all comes to a sudden skidding stop still 20 miles to go - no phone signal get walking,
phone a friend who is waiting on the 400 quid in my pocket to buy a little bike- one seat alhambra later a fazer back at home
(please note i have no fairings or mirrors which ment it fit in the seat)
one pissed of bloke today got to go strip my head again

i hope the old pump isnt the first prize lol

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Help needed - fuel problem
« on: 15 April 2017, 02:24:35 pm »
if its the higher pressure pump would it not pump fuel constantly as it never hits the knock off pressure
doesnt this problem only happen when the bike is running
(my pump starts on ignition then stops when it reaches pressure and i assume starts up again when using fuel i.e. fuel line pressure drops)

great to watch a full resto going on
mine might be getting the full strip and redesign treatment when i get my new house in the city (need it everyday here in the countryside)
will be watching with anticipation of where you go with yours
im thinking of going a metalic high sparkle blue with hydrodip layed over the top
if your wanting to stand out have a look at the hydrograpics options its amzing what you can have done now

FZS600 Fazer / Re: Clutch cable: genuine @£30 or knock off @£7?
« on: 11 April 2017, 08:44:52 pm »
after wasting a lot of money on cheap clutch cables in the last year (twice ending with recovery vans) i decided a good quality one and pre lubing it myself aswell was the best plan and all has been well ever since.
TSX cables are about 15 quid on ebay and fzs clutches are a lot lighter than 82gsx's and i rarely have trouble with TSX

tape will work to sort out the shorting out
simple repair
-remove speedo, snip and solder in a few inch pieces (keeps the length)wrapping in insulation tape on each wire
if you have heat shrink add it to outer sleeve before hand and shrink once job is done to give a more water resistant finish

interesting thought - if the 'funnel' catches what falls from that then where did the funnel pipe lead too - wasnt it into the airbox ??
just went to pods so i ripped everything out and threw it under a workbench
water into airbox wouldnt be a good thing

ok i have had some success - using 125s in 1+4 and 127.5s in 3+4 with the circlip on the fourth groove down
i am only using cheap chinese pods for now untill i can afford k+n's and new exhaust system then will be down the dyno to get her properly setup
have uploaded a video on my youtube channel- link should be in my signiture
