General / rac break down problem
« on: 01 June 2015, 02:26:36 pm »
Bit of a twat here in Italy . One of our bikes has broken. A triumph speed triple. Missing badly.coil or something.
Rider has rac breakdown a d repatriation. Bike gone on break down truck. But rac says bike can't be looked at until Wednesday.we will be home by then.but rac say if bike  can be fixed then he has to ride it home. They say get cheap flight home and we will pay for it.

What a pile of shit. Total let down

Also they said hire a car to Italy border. Get taxi to next hire place .then taxi on.pay a d reclaim costs.

Yes ,I am afraid so  :'(

I have been out with Nick Crisp , he was ahead of me, out of sight, I came around the corner, there was his bike on its side, sticks, stones  everywhere, passed it and there he was lay by the road in the grass,,i saw him open his visor,

that alone was the biggest relief,  got to him, he was having a struggle to breath but was manageing it, and odd word,,

Ambulance,, he talked better after ten miutes,,back pain,,so onto a board and gone to Shrewsbury hospital.. hope is is going to be ok xxx

Bike,,well ran out of road,,went along the trees,hedge,not through it,,slid , more like,,dented tank,,right footrest off,,but mostly seems ok,,as is him I hope..

Bike, I rode it to a house nearby, a local bloke stopped and was brill, his wife a firstaider orso,

I have some pics,,,for  him ,,hope he gets out to see them..

Come on Nick , you have been through worse..

General / What made you buy that?
« on: 08 March 2015, 08:08:03 am »
Well it's a question you probably have thought of asking your mate or someone you met out on a ride.

"What made you buy that"

Yesterday was a lovely warm day, dry roads and no wind, now i live on the side of the A49 and it seemed like everyone and their uncle had got into the back of the garage and dug out their Motorbike,

There were hundreds of bikes going both ways, groups of sportsbike riders,,screemers, noisey folks they are :lol

Lovely rumbling of the V twin, coming into the bend and going out, the pairs of Harley riders ,chug, chuging along.

Its a fact that it is a good job we all have different tastes, needs, veiws of bikes, what a pleasure to see and hear the huge variety of bikes going past,
I could not help but look every time i heard one.And the sound as they leave the village, there was one naughty group giving it the beans,,sounded like a BSB race :)

General / Ebay
« on: 02 March 2015, 09:29:37 pm »
So whats the deal with Ebay?

if someone over bids you then retracts the bid when they find your highest bid

or a seller messages you "sorry mate ,i wanted more than that for it,,focc off"

or a buyer does not turn up or dissappears ?

is there no policing ?

is it hard luck ?

Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner / Fz1s Fork oil and steering grease repack.
« on: 01 March 2015, 07:48:16 am »
So at 18,000 miles the Gen 2 could do with a fork oil change and steering bearings grease repack.

Start with lifting the front wheel, my home made bike lift made this easy

1

A must at this stage is loosen top clamp bolts to make undoing the top caps easier, using a 32mm socket loosen caps 1 turn

2

Undo the preload to max..

3

Insert correct front wheel spindle tool

5

Remove wheel,mudguard and brake calipers
4

Then undo lower fork clamps
6

Then slide out forks
