Title: Ebay !! why ?
Post by: slimwilly on 07 July 2016, 06:32:33 pm
So it's too easy to search ebay , select an item them buy it,,umm all seems well,,,but I was looking for a throttle tube for my fz1s and found a used one for £29.00

Then an internet seach comes up with this from Wemoto
http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fz1_s_fazer/08-09/picture/handlebar_grip_-_right_-_throttle_side_includes_pipe_-_oem/ (http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/fz1_s_fazer/08-09/picture/handlebar_grip_-_right_-_throttle_side_includes_pipe_-_oem/)

Yes , a new grip complete with throttle tube for less than half the price of one in the breakers which did not have a grip on it,, so just take a bit more time and google it.

The wemoto part is oem, and half the price of the eBay item, that's his point!

We used to sell plants at a car boot sale for £10 more than they were in M&S. I think some people believe they are getting a bargain and don't check the retail price.

As always, buyer beware.

I always contact or visit breakers to make an offer, most of the time they accept the offer.

Sometimes they try and charge more than the OEM price as they haven't bothered to check.....and neither do most buyers.

Not the same but similar - I needed to replace the clutch adjuster screw, oem was about £10, eBay fancy one was £16, pro bolt £7
It's easy to assume pro bolt are expensive when they're not always!
