My mother in law and her hubby moved to grantham couple of years ago, we visit quite often and find it quite nice.... oooo and if ur near the castle they have a fireworks competition every year (august i think) which is an awesome evening... weve been for the last 2 years....

not great info to settle you but from what weve seen it seems nice, where r u near? they arent far from the asda?!

We had really high winds up by me, it nearly took my car off the road  :(

when i got home i put the bike next to the wall on the side stand.... at least if it was going to blow over it would have just fell an inch or two against the wall...

Luckily it didnt blow over.... same cant be said for the neighbours  :\

you can have my copy of skyrim for £20 if you want it...

I just cant get into it  :\

as for the Xbox memory, i got the 250gb and can easily see how its going to be eaten up by the amount of updates and Apps available on it now.... worth investing... although there are rumours within the gaming community that a new xbox could be launched in the next 18months?!?!

Why if you are 20 did you bother doing it? all my life i wanted to ride but couldnt stand the idea of a full licence and not being able to ride properly so waited and did my DAS at 21, did cost that much extra either, (a lot cheaper then the restrictor kit)

but most friends i know who have had them have taken them off claiming them to be too dangerous, you end up with all the weight of a big bike with no power to get you out of the corners  :\

But most Police officers wont check it, and dont even know where to check it, it doesnt show on an ANPR camera so....

General / Re: driving test - car
« on: 29 December 2011, 06:10:52 am »
hey, i passed my driving test about 6 years ago now,

Instructor wise you need word of mouth, the instructor i had was indeed as some have mentioned a slight perve ("ooo thats not the gear stick... stop trying to touch me up") but i knew him from my local at the time and just told him to shut it....
he was an amazing instructor... passed myself 4 of my cousins and 7 of my friends all first time in under 20 lessons....i only needed 13 lessons with him but ended up having a couple more due to my test getting cancelled...

as for thoery tests.... go on amazon (other websites/shops are available) and get yourself the most up tp date DSA theory test pack... one that includes the hazard perception too....(usually around £9) and updated every September....
when i did my theory for car and bike i had about 3 questions that i had not seen before... all the rest i had practiced on the CD.

as for companies.... my instructor was AA yet was only in a Franchised vehicle.... my Ex was with RED and again it was the same thing... got lesson cheaper.... yet my current missus was with private self employed instructor but seems to be doing ok although (to me) was a little more expensive

Anywhhhooo.... ive babble on a bit with my 2cents so  :z

See, next christmas i think i will need to earmark some presents list, i just feel very guilty when someone says what do you want and i come out with "new chain and sporcket set pls?"

Although i have the simplest of presents i have found that i have had a terrible time changing the bolts on my screen.... the last one to take out and it decided to round off.... i had to pull it off the bike then spent 90mins with 2 spanners and a pair of pliers unscreming a thread bare screw....  :'(
Never simple.....
Ive also scratched my beloved black screen in the process..... not a happy bunny  :\

on the plus side.... Black bolts look so much better on the black screen *nomnomnom*  :b

General / Re: Birmingham-LandsEnd-Lowestoft in 16hrs?
« on: 26 December 2011, 06:18:09 pm »
hey all thanks for the input so far, yes Clarkson did the Lowestoft to LE in 8hrs something ....
it was this i wanted to attempt but thought that daylight would be safer, the only problem is... the equivelant would be during the winter solstice, meaning bad weather?!
the most ive done is 200miles but that was getting lost for 4 hours while camping with full camp gear and the missus on the back with no sat nav!

i want a challenge on the bike and not one that is going to be easy, its going to go to mulitple charities but whatever i raise i can get my work to match and give it to cancer reaserch (which is their charity of choice till april)

i am definately doing L.E to Lowestoft next year also John o'Groats - L.E. with a group.

i think at most there will be 3 bikes

hmmmm.....

hey guys, any tips on trying to organise a charity ride out next summer?

not sure if it has been done before but i am looking to go from wolverhapton (in the midlands) down to Lands End, Acroos to Lowestoft and back up to the start point in under 16hours....

its works out to around 900mile which could be possible in daylight during Summer solstice???

any tips pls?!?!

i know the feeling, i went on ebay to get a service kit, for my FZS600 '99 with oil etc  the cheapest price was £59.99 with delivery, bargain i thought.... then noticed its from the shop down the road from me so decided to pop in and collect it so i could get it a little sooner

when i got there they tried to charge me £69.99? :eek

this was until i used my womanly charm of stamping me feet and threatening to call trading standards.

he tried to use excuses of its and Ebay off etc etc but i wasnt standing for it and in the end got it for the £59.99 as it stated on ebay....

in future i'll stick with online shopping as long as i know what i need... much easier, plus i dont have to do my make up to collect it! :lol
